and, while i'm at it, my birdcage fell over in my trunk the other night and I just re-racked them all unorganized to get them back into my house. This necessitated a large dumping of chips onto my table to re-sort them. So, 400 or so chip splashed pot shot. :-)

It can't be resolved, and it's pointless to debate the question. The simple fact is that you can have full racks, or you can have spares. You can't have both.

One solution is to always buy ten spares of each chip/denom, and store ten such sets of spares together in a rack. But then you put yourself in the situation of having to always be sure that the number of sets/denoms you have is a multiple of ten.

Good luck!

The spares are always in a box put away and are never opened unless you have to replace a chip. They're not in a rack is no where near the racks of chips. Can't mix peas and carrots!

Spare barrels is the way to go, so think multiples of 20, not 10! Half barrels might as well be 99 chips in a rack.

Great idea, until a chip is broken or goes missing. A second "must move" set of spares is needed for when we upgrade one of the official spares to the main set.

It never ends, does it? :ROFLMAO:

Must Move Spares. BRILLIANT!!!!

I am also afflicted with this disorder. I find myself paying as much for the last couple of barrels as I did for a rack and a half originally.

Agreed! My spares are hidden well away (in a box) in a dark, dark place! Hmm, reading this thread has reminded me there's a broken $1000 chip in that box... I may have to source a single to replace that...
