trying to complete my closed cali hot stamp cash set
will keep out if someone from here

otherwise what do you all think?

According to my chip pricing tool, there have only been two racks of these $20s sold within the last 3-4 months. Both racks were in mint condition and went for $255 and $282. Although both were pre-Christmas pricing.

If you hope to win these, I'd say you probably should be prepared to bid somewhere between 175-225, and pray for less :)

Say wattt???? There's a chip pricing tool? Where can I invest in this techmology????

Very cool rack though. Wait until the end of the auction - I'd say - to throw in your bids, I feel like too many bids drive up the price and attraction. I think Sun Tzu said something once about becoming formless to confuse the enemy.

hmmmm.. tempting. but not mint enough for me.

I will not be bidding on these.

I need these to relabel as Fracs so I will be bidding on them. Unless someone can point me to a similar used condition with 4 spots...I would prefer a yellow, white or light color THC chip for my relabel set.

Should be plenty of live $1 options? Bentax just picked up a heap of Venetian $1s.

Yeah, I've thought about harvesting some chips for this relabel project. This yellow $1 from Casino Real in Manteca fits the bill but its a tiny, tiny cardroom. I don't know how they will react when I run off with 3-4 racks of these. LOL

I take back my last comment about not bidding on these....

If they stay around $1 to $1.20 per chip then i might have to bid.

They actually don't look in that bad of shape. Little grubby but the edges are not all chipped up.

Ya, I think they're in better condition than they first appear. After a little elbow grease, or a dunk in the ultrasonic, I think they'd easily go for $175 - $200 on eBay with some better pictures. There's a fairly strong demand for these chips though. They've seen a lot of action in previous auctions.

So what are you going to use for the smaller denominations?

The chip denom of the Desert Oasis i have isn't very practical for me. Personally I really like tournament format for my home games, and my buddies i play with don't seem interested in cash games even though i've suggested it a couple of times.

I'm small time when it comes to poker too, so i don't think there'll be a time when i'm playing a cash game using the 100s as face value. (or the 20s for that matter)

So thats the long winded answer to your question.

Short answer is.... Not going to use for face value. Just love the chips.!! Very unique colors. and those 20s are like Candy !!

OK. so who contacted the seller and killed the auction?

bonesnjnts was that you?

If the chips are in decent shape, I'd say it's worth the effort to find out how they'd react.
