I play a few games weekly and one place I go has an old school poker closk which I think is much better than any app I have ever used. Its simple, everyone can see it, it beeps at each level and is user friendly. Would you people buy one if they were on sale again?

Could be interesting but I use and love Tournament Director. What does the clock look like, little digital screen? For us, plugging a laptop with TD into a TV screen is easy to see and loud enough.

I'd consider it but wouldn't pay too much knowing I have TD. Maybe focus on small and simple for a STT.

It's roughly the size of half a cereal box. Digital and shows basic info, time and blinds and blind levels

Gotcha. For me a laptop with TD handles that but can also do all kinds of buyins/payouts/starting stack calcs/table moves, etc. I don't always use every feature but little reason for me to buy a new thing to handle less. I can set when the beeps sound and what the sound is, set blinds, buyin and seat players, its bananas.

Not attacking your idea, just explaining my take on the niche.

I’ve been looking at this one, set up timers for bathroom breaks, shot clocks, and anything else we want to time.

I get it, hence the reason for asking. Different horses for different courses, Im not suprised some people will always prefer an app, just trying to gague the amount roughly

A touch complicated for having a quick glance Id think....No?
I do really have one of these, but we mostly use apps.

It’s fine for what it is, the builtin schedules are crap but you can set two custom ones. No pint and click do you have to scroll through each level to set them. It does carry the time forward on all of them but you can customize that too.

Another two other options option I’ve seen done well vs just using your phone - (i) get some cheap ~$50 tablets, (ii) display the app on TVs

I can’t tell if that’s a *really* tiny clock or a *really* big deck of cards!

We've got a Poker Genie available at work if you're interested. I can send you some pictures of it.

Still use my Poker Genie every month and have 3 spares in case it dies.
Our monthly League uses the Poker Genie... What a pain to program... but it does the job once its set up... Hard to believe no one is making a digital / LCD version of this??

I use TD. If you need a timer for bomb pots etc, use my phone. Also, lot of free timer available.

I use an Ipad app. It is great. Can have 2 ipads set up for multi-table games and they sync w/ each other, can control w/ my phone too. Much more convenient IMO.

Last month i used the "freepokerclock" at our home game, next week i will try the "ultimate holdem timer" as it allows for more configuration.
At first i panned to give TD a shot but then realized its an actual windows only app, which i can't use as i always hook up my macbook to the tv in the garage!
