Wife needs help! (1 Viewer)

Y’all are great! I think he will want the poker size. Thank you very much. I’ll check a few of the links out & see what I can find.

These are amazing I have 2 setups!

Wow, sorry to derail but I didn’t realize how reasonable the prices were. Sorry for the dumb question but when he says “1 set” does that actually mean a full setup of 2 decks? I checked the order thread and it was unclear to me.

Welcome!!

The main difference is the width of the playing card. Lots of casinos have moved over to bridge because dealers of all hand sizes can comfortably hold the card deck in their hand with less fatigue. For home games, it is usually just a matter of preference or equipment availability.

After bridge vs poker size, the next preference is usually the index size, or how big the images/markings are. Usually they come in standard index (smaller sizing images) or jumbo index (larger sizing images). There is a trend in home games preferences for index size to be jumbo because of variable conditions, such as lighting (bad lighting can make it hard to see smaller images) or rotating dealers (in a self dealt game around an oval table, a dealer on the corner would make the placement of the community cards to be far away from players on the other end of the oval table, this isn’t as large of an issue when there is a dedicated dealer in the central position of the table.
There are other styles, such as 4 pip, 4 color, peek, etc, but those are less common.

If we’re on this site, we’re taking about 100% plastic cards. Not paper or plastic coated.

Manufacturers and models are a whole different rabbit hole!!!

Edit: Some good cards I've recently handled are:
Desjgn - various
Gemaco Superflex
Bicycle Prestige

I mean the one that had two decks together in a little box.

So a setup is a box with 2 decks of cards. I bought the victorian's 2 setups, so I got all 4 deck colors. Freaking amazing price shipped to the door for the best cards I've handled. Can't beat it
