Generally eBay is great for buyers. It is very little risk to buy from a seller with zero feedback. Worst case scenario, the chips either don't arrive, or they arrive "not as described" and eBay forces the seller to give a full refund.
Haha, ya. I'm not planning to exploit member sales in here like that. But if I see an auction on eBay that's priced at half the market value, profiting off the sale is totally fair game as far as I'm concerned.
The only thing I'd be leery of from this listing is the fact that he/she ends the description with the words, "Compare at $1000+ on other sites." I would have expected someone selling these legitemately at this price to not know what they're actually worth. But to know what they're worth AND still sell them at half the market value is at least slightly alarming. Either way, I would have taken the gamble on these for sure, and just had eBay refund me if they weren't legit.
For new sellers, eBay will hold the funds in escrow for a few weeks or more just in case there's an issue. The seller won't even get the money for quite a while even if the item is 100% legit.
