Official guide is hopefully coming soon. Help me fill in some gaps if you have pictures or believe I have the wrong year on any of these. @nezara for Binions years.

I have Binions ones including and before the silver anniversary one you have here. I'll have to dig into a backup drive to find my personal scans of those. I'll be able to help if you give me a day or three.

The image for the Binions chips got corrupted somehow but I reposted it.

I am looking for 1992, 1993, scans of 1999 and 2001, and anything pre-1991 (if they exist).

How do the buy-in chips work in practice exactly? Are all the tournaments multiples of 500 so instead of a buy-in card they give you the buy-in amount in these chips?

They are given out as prizes in satellite tournaments. If they gave cash, the winner(s) could just do whatever they wanted with the money and buy-in chips are probably deemed easier than a tournament credit system. If you win a satellite, they give you x amount of 500 buy-in chips you can use in any tournament during the WSOP you want but they must be used at that year's set of tournaments which is why there is typically a new chip every year. If you don't use it by the end of the series, it loses its value.

Not all tournaments but most (and all up until a few years ago) have buy-ins with multiples of 500.

Lol that was a guy trying to sell me the previous years chips I believe. So I’m not sure if the exact year.

Well damn.

I am pretty confident on the blues being 2016 so it would make sense that these were 2015 or 2017.

Anyone active on twoplustwo and wanna do me a favor?

Sorry, I was in a registration line and he came by offering them for like $200 each, I passed but took a picture, and if I recall correctly I saw the actual chips they were using for buy ins being used for buyins later on and they weren’t the same color. So it made me think he was scamming. But it’s not something I researched any more. Maybe they were all legit. But in any case I’m not giving a random stranger in Las Vegas more than $50 for anything, no matter how good a deal it is. I’m not that desperate for good deals. Or putting it another way, I’m not rich enough to afford “good deals”!
