Not Mine WTHC eBay (1 Viewer)

I'll never understand why the World Top Hat and Cane chips aren't on a top hat and cane mold.
Or why they're called World Top Hat and Cane when "world" appears nowhere on the inlay.

I was looking closely at the set because high demons are hard to come by. Some of the chips seem to be in rough shape so I am less interested.

Even with that, still got a feeling the bids will be out of control the last 5 mins of the auction

eBay redirects this link with one of those bullshit "that one is sold, why don't you bid on this one instead", but if you go to the original listing, this one was $30 with a minute left. I bid $150 (pie in the sky, but I tried).

My point is eBay encourages sniping and last minute bidding, and discourages an actual auction where people bid, think about what others have bid, and bid some more. All to the detriment of sellers. And I hate that about the platform.

haha man this took me a second to catch on.... I am looking for high denoms not high demons!

I can't deny that I have sniped my fair share of auctions. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But I have also used my fair share of Buy It Now and Best Offer, and overall I think my eBay purchases have been a decent bargain. Best score in the last 6 months was 260 THC casino roulettes for $24, shipping in.

I've always wondered the same thing! But I was told once that they were "world" chips because they did not have a currency symbol on them, unlike the Paulson Classics (which have dollar signs), and thus they could be used for the "world" and not just the US.

They stopped allowing custom/home chips on the TH&C mold around year 2000. So the choice was either the current mold, or the less popular 'PAULSON CHIPS' advertising mold. No doubt, if they were on the TH&C mold they would be worth even more.

I cant stand this either. I'll have a bid in for 500 and it will literally be down to less than a second left and go from 40 dollars to 501. Its bullshit and I hate it. I've even had it before where the time expired and it said you won and then I refresh and there were like 16 more bids and I was out bid by a dollar. I know it's some kind of a computer program because none can bid 15 times with less than a second left to find the exact lowest amount over my bid.

I have always been very bad at any sort of bidding site including eBay. I am glad to hear other people are frustrated with it as well.

I usually set an alarm for 5 minutes before auction ends and then with 1 minute left throw in a bid at the maximum that I am willing to pay. If I get outbid, c'est la vie. Plus I only bid on stuff I really want, no low balling just because it seems like I could get something dirt cheap.

I can’t see the auction anymore. Anyone know how much it sold for?

Weird. When I click on link, it didn’t show anything. But I clicked again and saw how much it sold for
