So looks like the procedure they used is:
1) everyone starts out with 2 bounty chips, NCV. The bounty was $2000 in this event so each are “worth” $1000. It looks like it will make life easy to have cash chips exactly equivalent to bounty. So if you have $20 chips in your set, do a $40 bounty.
2) when a player gets eliminated, half of the NCV chips are exchanged on the spot for cash chips by the floor and given to the winner. The remaining NCV get added to the winner’s bounty. (Player A has two bounty chips and gets eliminated by B. Floor trades 1 for a cash chip. Player B can pocket the cash chip, and then adds the other bounty chip to his stack)
3) if a player has odd bounties, the odd chip is not cashed out and goes into the bounty. (Player A has five bounty chips and is eliminated. Floor swaps two for cash and gives to player B. Remaining three bounty chips are added to player B bounty)
4) rules seem to say rare, but occurring, split bounties (player B and C chop a pot and cover player A and eliminate player A) are all swapped for cash and assigned to players as cash chips based on position. Normal bounties you would chop the bounty (I like to offer my fellow bounty cowinner a red/black gamble on next flop) but this is a little different
