I recently bought 2 racks of Wynn Tournament/Prop/Famous Movie/Touched by Models chips. Some on this site hate the chips, some love them and some are indifferent. This is not a thread for bashing these chips, but for commerce :p (for bashing the chips go here)

I know some of these chips have sold at very high prices in the past, but I will be very patient in building my set and have no rush. As for pricing, I do have some recent points of reference:
  1. Travis always gets full value (;)) for his chip and seems he has great market-timing too, and he sold a set of 200 chips for $1050 last year (I do recognize the breakout is different, but the average price comes to $5/chip). https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/200pc-wynn-charity-event-tournament-set.19660/
  2. 200 were sold for $600 ($3/chip) https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/wynn-charity-chips-priced-to-sell.18867/
  3. 210 chips were sold in November for $450 ($2/chip). https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/garage-sale-priced-to-sell.25242/#post-465324
  4. I ended up overpaying a member for the chips he had just acquired and flipped them after a few weeks, but they still came out to approximately $3/chip
So, depending on condition, how big the set is, and what chips are in the set, my offer is somewhere in the above-mentioned range.

Are you looking to put together a complete set of all denoms (25 through 5k)? Or are you just trying to get enough chips together to make them playable? The reason I ask is because there's a surplus of the 100s and 500s, but the other denoms are harder to come by. You can often find racks of those denoms for sale by themselves at much lower prices than the other denoms. The 25s are particularly difficult to track down. Another member here posted a wanted ad for a rack of 25s and couldn't find any takers for a long time. He kept increasing his offer price until he finally got some. He ended up paying $1500 for just the one rack. Same thing with the 5k chips. They're also very difficult to track down. But since fewer of those are needed to make playable sets than the 25s, they might be slightly easier to find. But they still fetch about the same price as the 25s as there are fewer of them. If you're just looking for something payable and at cheap prices, your best chance would be to go after the 100s through 1k chips and forgo the 25s. Maybe even track down a few 5k chips (aim for 10 maybe?). That'll be your best chance I would guess. But if you're hoping to find some 25s, 1ks, and 5ks for around $3 ea, you're probably in for a fairly long wait.

That said, there are definitely more of these chips out there than what made it into the chipping community (as evidenced by their appearance in Will Ferrell's movie 'The House'). I'm not sure how many more are out there, but if I were you, I'd try to see if I could score some of those somehow. Softchewy seems to have a knack for tracking down rare, awesome chips. Maybe he can give you some pointers? :)

Good luck with the hunt. These are still my favorite Paulson set to date. Mine are keepers :)

Thanks Travis. I like these chips a lot. Regardless of whether they are casino chips or not. I have several non-casino Paulson sets (Noir for example) that I rank much higher than 90% of the Paulson casino sets. It's a personal taste.

I am looking to create a playable set. We don't play tournaments, so I don't need a lot of 1K or 5K chips. a Rack of 500s (which I already bought) should be sufficient for high denom chips. But I do need 2-3 racks of $100s and 2 racks of $25s, and there is no way in hell I am paying $1500 for a rack of those chips...LOL...it's just me. As you've said meany times before, to each their own. If they never become available, then I will never make a playable set out of these and end up selling them at some future date. I will eventually need 2 racks of $5s too, but those I will have to harvest. Generally this the typical playable set I need:

200 x $5
200 x $25
300-400 x $100
100 x $500
Maybe one or two barrels of 1K, but not very necessary.

I am patient and have bought lots of chips recently to satisfy my appetite for a while, but the hunt will continue. :D Thanks again

Pretty sure there are no 5s.
I know. Will have to find a replacement, which could very well be Wynn’s live $5 chips

Or better yet, a relabeling project for the $5s (y)

I would try for a relabel project for some 25s then too if you'll need 200 of them. They're probably going to be the most difficult to acquire
