Official Home Game Pics Thread! (47 Viewers)

Pictures from tonight's $1/$1 dealer's choice NLHE/Omaha-Hi game.

One player with deep pockets likes to drive the action and play for big pots. Use to be a friendly $40 buy-in game. Once in a while re-buys would hit $100. Now min buy is $40 with most players buying in for $60 to $100. Mr. Large buys in for $200 and always re-buys back in equal to the big stack at the table.

Hero buys in for a $100 to stay in line with with the other players.

Two players went home early. Six remained until the end.

Hero felt gambly early, losing his first buy-in. Lost his second $100 buy-in. Re-bought back in for two bills.

Not to shabby.

Benjamin in the pot. Rack of $20's on the table. Played with a $10 straddle a third of the hands mid way through, $15 at the end. $30 to $40 opening bets.

Hero cashed out up $1350. Mr. large down eight.
I am amazed by your player pool every time you post!

It's Monday, you know what that means.

Not dealing tonight. Caught a damn cold. Bah!

Text exchange between Hero and the Host yesterday.

Game at 4, my place. We have 7.

Okay. I will be there. Just finished lunch.

Where are you? I will be home in ten. Trav and Sammy are with me.

Ran into D*** Jollotta, an evangelical minister. Got held up 15 minutes.
He said a prayer for me.

Going by L**** Towing.

Warn the others. I have God on my side.

It's okay. We are at the ATM. :)

-- Hero isn't superstitious, but he just may call Mr. Jollotta and ask him for a prayer ahead of tomorrow night's $1/$2 NLHE game.

You just crush this game. Are you that good? Or, are they that bad?

The pics with the DDM ceramics is a completely different game from the one with the WHTC chips. The former is a loosely run $1/$1 dealer's choice NLHE/Omaha-hi game that is driven by a player who plays wide and is overly aggressive. Half the players (including Hero) are willing to mix it up by playing against him in bloated pots pre-flop and being sticky post flop if they catch any part of the board.

The host will poll players via FB/social media when he is jonesing for a game. Hero, who doesn't do social media, will ordinarily get a text message three to six hours in advance of game time, sometimes less. Last week Hero had an hour notice. The players in the group, with the exception of the Host, are blue collar workers in their late twenties and early thirties. Turnout is six to eight players. The game is loud and there is a lot of drinking that takes place.

The latter game is much more structured and is hosted by a person who owns multiple businesses. The Host's philosophy is if he is going to take time to have a weekly game then players better come prepared to lose three bullets of $300 before leaving. Bad beats on the second bullet being the exception. Two decks are in play. One is shuffled two behind, the player on the right picks up the deck and hands it to the person who just dealt, who then cuts the deck and places it on the cut card for the next player who's turn it is to deal.

Cards come first, socializing second. There is always 10 players, eight of whom are regulars, leaving two seats open for the five to six standbys. A $1000 bucks is chump change for the three regs that are business owners and the one player who as an only child inherited a small fortune when his parents passed. The majority of the regulars are in their late fifties. Hero is 54. The standby list largely consists of players in their mid to late thirties. Drinking is limited to two players who will consume six to eight beverages during the course of six hours, the length of the game. From time to time, the person who runs the bank will have three or four mixed drinks.

Hero's game is imperfect, but he is a seasoned PLO/NLHE player accustomed to having to switch up his game as necessary.

Played a 4 handed over the weekend with set of Stud Playing cards I found at a garage sale for a quarter. Flopped my highest hand ever - quad aces. Villain had KK. In for $30 out for $56.View attachment 986491
I don't condone slow rolling, but it would be hard to not declare Aces over Queens... with an ace kicker.:ninja:

Great background. I was referring to the game in photo with WTHC chips. Whatever you are doing, keep it up. It’s impressive.
