Mark Twain is one of the oldies and one of the good ones. Jim brought this to us in November of 2008, one of the early sets in Jim's lengthy history @TheChipRoom One of the nicest 100's Might have been one of the first minty sets , not sure ???

I'm still trying to get about 1/2 a rack of 5's

Very nice chips!
I nearly purchased these in january, then finally went for a AS set.
The only Mark Twain set i ever saw - Terrible‘s you see a lot more often.

Great chips! I was able to get a set during the original TCR offering. I was not able to get any fracs, though. I did get a rack of Twain roulettes, and used those as fracs. I loved the chips, but they didn’t fit my current needs for a couple of reasons;
1) No real frac. The .50 chips were rarer, and those that got them didn’t wanna give them up. Also, this was before Gear was really doing his thing, and murder/re-label wasn’t done. If I knew the latter was gonna be more prevalent in the future of this hobby, and I could make my own fracs, I would’ve never gave them up.
2) The breakdown was more for a 1/2 game, and not a .25/.50 game; $1 x 100, $5 x 300, and $25 x 100. At the time my game played real small, and I never got a single $25 in play. This set was last in my rotation, as I had others that were a better fit for my needs.
So I sold them, and it’s the only set I’ve ever sold during my time in this hobby. I have been able to acquire a full sample set since then.
Thanks for the pics! They bring back a lot of memories! There were so many early TCR offerings that you don’t see much of anymore.

I was chatting with @Lil Tuna a few months ago and we were talking about that. I think the Mark Twain primary $1 is the best $1 ever made. And I will die on that hill.

I like the Terrible Twain secondary better, but I always wanted some of those Mark Twain primaries , love that 5. I've know there is a rack of dollars out there somewhere

Yeah, I’ve always really liked this chip, too.
I should’ve made a weekend trip up to WY to harvest a couple racks of these. Unfortunately, they’re now obsolete.
