I've seen one casino dealer using a metal cut card. If a casino regulation allows it, I don't see the harm.
I'd imagine if one threw a cut card on top plastic playing card, no harm will be done normally. You would probably would have to throw the cut card with abnormal force to do damage.
I think how polish edges will have more of a damaging factor.

Can it be accidently shuffled into the deck? The latest custom cut-card craze has been plastic cards that can get accidently shuffled into the deck (especially with stiffer decks) and you have to sift through the deck to find it again. While that isn't a deal breaker (they still serve the purpose), it makes them considerably less favorable.

Should be next week. I ordered all 6 colors in solid which will be available. Theyre a blank slate to fully customize. If you provide the art then no minimum. Probably an order of 10 or more and I can help with the artwork. Still working out pricing.Really nice looking @Potsie1
