Majestics Pron! (1 Viewer)

On my custom labels I'm going orange nickel, blue quarter, white dollar, red 5, yellow 20 and black 100

Soap and water the blanks? Soak em? I can't PZ them...no jacuzzi

I gave em soap and water, they still smell

spot progression may be the wrong choice of words, but I do think that people want variations in spots.

Using the Pharaohs as an example, the same molds are used the following chips

1, 100, 5000
.05, 25
.25, 5, 500, 1000

No real reason they they couldn't be varied... to some purists it would drive them nuts, but I've seen some people doing different, non-traditional color combinations for their sets that I wouldn't do, but they're seeming to love.

To each their own, but it's always better to have more choices than fewer IMO

Has anyone else seen a strange effect when oiling the Majestics? It makes the faces look a little more gritty when dried... I tried with the orange and red colors so far and have seen this effect on both. Almost wish I didn't start oiling these guys. Never had this happen with any other China Clay.

When I get labels, I want them to be a bit smaller like the inlay on this chip.

I'm not sure that's a good idea. The Terrible's inlay is face-flush with the rest of the inlay area, but if you put a 1.05" label into a 1.15" inlay area (to use the Terrible's numbers) you will have a "racetrack" around the edge of the label that is lower than the rest. I don't think this will look all that great, and it will definitely be more susceptible to getting snagged by sharp edges (e.g. other chips, fingernails, what-have-you.)

Crappy phone pics, and I don't care (to the tune of Jimmy Crack Corn)

Finally done. Good God, first labeling job and I HATE doing it. Really can't stress enough how much I dislike doing it. Had I put the wrong labels on the wrong colored chips I'm sure I'd have said eh, good enough.

Like the chips though :)

Sweet color combo. I had to do about 200 and it wasn't that bad, but definitely made me appreciate standard color denoms...

Agreed. Even apart from the ease of application, that size looks better to me than filling up the recess.

It's actually not easier - centering a label that is 1/10" smaller diameter than where you're putting it is pretty difficult. The human eye is REALLY good at seeing variation (error) in the concentricity of circles.

That said, it's correct that a 0.992" inlay should not get a 0.992" label. It's WAY easier to apply a 0.98" label, and it looks basically the same.

Yes, this was actually a very innovative way to achieve different looks with significant cost savings while observing the three-colors-per-chip restriction. The chips did cost the consumer a bit more than other china clays (partially due to this feature, but not totally), but I think the results were well worth it. The various treatments of the 3t18 configuration were excellent, and several other variations could have been produced using this pattern as well.

Broke these in Monday - two thumbs up -
The faded lettering I assume was intentional but does not work well but overall better then CPS from a feel perspective and sound - for the price great deal - unfortunately the set brought me terrible luck -1300 for the sesh - that stings a bit - overall though good set to have

Its a raised rail ... the lighting was built under it .....actually seats 11 comfortably. bigger than the standard size ..... instead of being in front of cup holder you square up by seating in between them ...... seems to work well.

Sorry for taking over Majestics Pron fellas! Not intentional :)

@Gear did your chips show up yet?
I also want to know this.

Hi folks. Yes, I finally got all my chips. The first box sent by USPS showed up a week late, and the FedEx boxes the day before (despite being shipped well afterwards.) Not Apache's fault at all - the USPS just mysteriously held them for a week. No damage to the box or barcode that I could see ... just late.

What is the size of the label recess?
@Gear will know what size labels to use so I am just waiting for the word to place my order for PCF labels.

I've measured, and my numbers agree with Tommy's pics. They are nominally 1" but I'll be cutting labels at about 0.98" for these. (People ordering labels from me don't need to get all super-picky about the exact size -- just tell me they're going on Majestics, and I will size them correctly.) Designers, set up for 0.98" and you'll be fine. (Heck, 1" is fine.)

FWIW, it's my opinion that the factory labels are actually slightly too big. There is enough variance in the chips themselves (see various other posts about diameters) that the inlay area is not a rock-solid constant, and in some cases the factory labels are buckled slightly. The guy in the YouTube video posted earlier mentions this as well.

Anybody weigh one? I don't have a weed scale...:D

I have a cheap digital kitchen scale that measures to the nearest gram, so I measured 100 chips at a time and divided by 100 for an accurate average weight.

Average weight of chips with factory labels:
Green -- 8.99 g
Black -- 8.69 g
Purple -- 9.06 g
Yellow -- 9.01 g
White -- 8.92 g
Red -- 8.95 g

Orange -- 8.67 g (blank - no factory labels on 'em yet)

For Brown and Pink I have only one sample chip each, so the best I can say is 9 g each.

So, very consistent average weight at just about exactly 9 grams, except for black.

Hope that helps!

These chips really are nice - rich red 5's - for the price they really are worth it - happy holidays to all chippers !

Trying something different with my group. Everyone is used to White/red/Green/Black for our 1/2 NLHE game.
So besides that I got some blank blues and yellows and did an alt 1 and some 20's. Tonight trying Blue 1's Red 5's and Yellow 20's for game to get some new color on the table. Other nights can switch back to White and Green or mix and match more ... you get the idea

total set
orange = 100
White 1 = 100
Blue 1 = 100
Red 5 = 400
Yellow 20 = 100
Green 25 = 300
Black 100 = 80
Purple 500 = 20

Good for .5/1 1/2/ 2/5

I have a barrel of pink and brown too just for color samples.
Oh and 5 plaques too just to check them out.

Just a bump in case it was lost in my beautiful picture.

Does anyone own Majestics and a ChipCo rack? I'm curious if they fit 20 chips tighter than the brybelly ones I have. Thanks!!

Agreed on the Chipco racks for these. They fit way better than BryBelly. I can only get 19 in a row sometimes with my Pharaoh's though.
