Tropicana 2nd Editions Unboxing pRon (1 Viewer)

The oiling will be my Wednesday evening.

quick reminder...make sure you let them air dry a day or so before you rack them up otherwise they may stick together in the rack, usually this will happen if you also used too much oil and didnt wait....those look great, good job !(y)

Had to update with some cleaned and oiled chips. Yes I broke down and did it and I am glad I did.

Holy schnikes if anyone has any reservations about cleaning/oiling they should be gone now. Those look fucking great.

Such a great decision oiling them ;)
I've got a rack of 25s and I sure don't regret bringing them back to second life!

At this point there's much I can do besides cross my fingers :(

Over the past 10 years, between works and hobbies, I've shipped quite a bit with USPS. This is certainly not the first time something has mysteriously disappeared off their radar. I've yet to every (permanently) lose a package I've sent or expected to receive. Came close one time. The package I sent showed delivered on the USPS website (on schedule too), but the buyer claims he never received it. He assumed it was stolen off his porch, which was plausible I suppose. He went to the local post office, who said they delivered the package and there wasn't anything they could do. It wasn't a particularly expensive item, just under $100 as I recall, and despite my offer to split the loss with him, he declined and just chalked it up to bad luck. Fast forward over 2 months, I get a package at my door. It's the "stolen" package from almost 10 weeks earlier. Apparently he wasn't home when they tried to deliver it, but accidentally marked it as "delivered" instead of "attempted delivery" in their system. So despite the guy going to the post office and asking about it, they just read the info off the screen and didn't bother looking for it. So it sat on the shelf at his PO for 2 months going unclaimed. Eventually they sent it back to me as deliverable. I contacted the guy, who was pleasantly surprised, and 2 months later he got his stuff. I guess my point is that one should never underestimate the ability of USPS to drop the ball but then potentially find the ball months later :)

Any update about your package ?

Any update about your package ?

Unfortunately no updates. I called USPS today to ask if they can look into it. I got a call back within 30 minutes from my local post office letting me know they didn't have it and didn't have any additional information at this time. It likely got misplaced or overlooked at the sort facility where it was last scanned. At this point I have to just wait and hope it gets back on track at some point. If it's not scanned again within 72 hours, they said to call back (although I'm not sure how much that will help). So for now I wait and keep my fingers crossed

I was looking for a "dislike" button to tag this post. Prayers for the Trops to arrive safely!

Thanks.

At least USPS is optimistic; They're still sticking with their original expected delivery date of last Friday (as of this evening, December 7th). :ROFLMAO:

Sadly I may have to wait one more day, but considering it was MIA 12 hours ago, I'll take it :D

At least you know they made it the post office!

Picked them up, safe and sound (now).

Here are a couple of the pictures I promised you with the light pink chips that I thought would look good as fractionals. Obviously the Trops haven't been cleaned or oiled, nor have the pink chips, they're both straight out of the box.

I've got an "Out for Delivery"!! Yay!

Not all here yet. One box still unaccounted for, and updates in tracking have stopped (no updates in 48 hours)

Officially nervous.

Yeah, those pinks look cool with the set. Are you going to have labels made?

Don't know, hadn't given it much thought yet. Already had the rack of pink chips that I bought about a month ago, wasn't sure exactly what I'd use them for. Was originally thinking relabled fractionals for my Aruba Palm Beach chips, but they seem to go really well with the Trops and the condition matches nicely.

You use the recipe and times? They look great and squeaky clean. The real difference will be when you oil them!!!

I have used the red devil "TSP" for the other cleaning I have done. I used the same stuff. Temperature was around 110 F. I kept them in for 2 minutes. I did the first batch for 1 minute but a few chips still had dirty text. Just ran 2 for the rest.

Oiling will be tonight.

yeah... I realized when I had my last game that some of the Binion chips weren't as clean as they should be.
Well they all came out looking great. I would love to have some Binions as well but Love the TROPS!!!
