A number of individuals assembled together to acquire ownership ... of chips.
Good point. How do I shove here?you don’t fold that easy in FishPond
If someone sells chips later on that they bought, it's a group buy since more than two people got together to buy the chips, just over a long period of time.Good point. How do I shove here?
If it helps clarify, I think that person’s PCF handle rhymes with melonvest.
I know who he is referring to. I am questioning his statement.
Anything is possible for people willing to forge illegal documents .
SB was not the first and wont be the last and I am willing to bet on it.
I fixed your statement.
Entertaining. However, that differs greatly from the Judge PCF episode:I also feel like this could be a great Judge Judy episode,
Plaintiff says , this is not a group buy.
Judge Judy: So you mean a group of people got together and bought something?
Plaintiff: Yes.
Judge Judy: So you're saying a GROUP of people got together?
Plaintiff: Yes
Judy: And bought something?
Plaintiff: Yes
Judge Judy: ( Rolls eyes) Get out.
I'm not so sure we are actually in disagreement. I'll concede that to an outsider -- or somebody looking at the individual definitions of each word -- that group buy could be applied. But in the context of what a Group Buy is on PCF -- it's misleading to use the term for something that does not actually qualify as being a Group Buy on the forum.I have to say Dave that I understand your point of view now much better than I did before, so thank you for that. Your definition is much more limited than mine and incorporates some common practices on PCF as limitations on the term. I don’t view public and open participation in a group buy in a thread as being a requirement for something to actually be a group buy. I think we can just agree to disagree on this one.![]()
Again not true. I would be interested to see any support for your false assertions.
How do you get the offer to participate in a future (if ever again) secretive purchase, for rock bottom prices? What are some ways to engage more in the community and to prevent myself from being left out of more exclusive opportunities like this? How would you recommend that newbs get their first or second set of Paulson chips?
Though if no one was playing, there would be no game. After being exposed to this chipping world for only a few months, I can see both sides. My emotion on the thread swayed to all sides of the spectrum with each updated post. My personal conclusion brings me back a fairly famous quote:
“Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”
How do you get the offer to participate in a future (if ever again) secretive purchase, for rock bottom prices?
Don't look at those that were able to pull off the coup and badmouth them, their tactics, or their methods. It should be a no-brainer, but maybe it needs to be said. Never kick your hero in the nuts.
If Lemonzest sold chips at rock-bottom prices, he would be a hero.If @Lemonzest is your hero I’m more than shocked. Disappointed is even an understatement.
his tactics made it infinitely harder for anyone else to pull off a purchase from GPI.
Hoping all of this has helped answer your original question, @mnebesny...![]()

That however, appears to be a really big "if".

I looked briefly for a kitty on a hot-dog roller, but decided I might not like what I found......nobody mentioned hotdog's yet or posted kitties...
I gave friendly pricing to my friends. Pretty standard IMO.
