I dont know about you guys but I’m going broke buying all these sweet WSOP chips on eBay!

How many do you think he has?

How do you think he obtained them?

Has anyone heard any stories or myths yet or just general thoughts on how someone could obtain this many!

Maybe they are trying to figure out "Market Value" before they unleash the horde? First NAGB of 2025 incoming!

User selling them joined eBay Jan 25th 2025 so seems they joined specifically to sell these chips and wasn't a seller that happened to buy them.

This is what I was sort of worried about. Test the waters see where thresholds are and then 3-6 months later racks baby!

Lol

Lots of wild stories.

Some think he has an endless supply and is grabbing them from the vault/cage or some on-premises storage room. I find this unlikely, because any on-site area is going to be covered with a million cameras... which makes it kind of hard to rip off casino property. Unless it’s a total management approved, “hey - we have 400,000 of these, y’all can take some home if you want” kind of deal.

And NGC rules specifically state NCV chips do not have to be destroyed, per gaming regulation 12.090 (d):

I’m of the thinking that they’re being taken from an off-site recycling/shredding facility. And there could be a huge supply of them. But that’s just total guesswork/speculation on my part.

I’ve heard a couple different stories/theories - hopefully the full story makes its out at some point.

Interesting tidbit re: the destruction rule for promo/tournament chips. If that’s really the case, I wonder why we haven’t seen other Vegas tournament sets hit the market before or why someone like Jim from @TheChipRoom (who to my knowledge tried very hard to secure the Rio WSOP chips) wasn’t able to acquire them.

The chip room tried to buy the Bud Jones WSOP chip and the NGC would let the Rio sell them.

There’s some older discussions about this topic.

Basically, the NGC is set in their ways and system of decades-old procedures… you can try explaining their own 12.090(d) to them, but good luck getting them to listen.

So, it is very unlikely the WSOP chips we’re all seeing are being released through “proper” channels.

The prices are literally ridiculous…offensive, even.

Section 2, part (c): "licensees shall not permit their use in transactions other than the promotions or tournaments for which they are issued".

Forgive my naivety, but isn't "selling tournament chips to The Chiproom" a transaction?

Gotta give it to him though, he’s been edging the community to perfection. Lol
I haven’t gave in. I know this kid has thousands more and is going to eventually drop the price. It has already started.
No seller would budge to any offer, should he have a limited supply and extreme demand.

He is playing an interesting game. I got the feeling early this guy is sitting on a decent amount. To have access to the full range and not just a couple of denoms and now hooking people up with working sets. Gotta have small arsenal. Lol

We have somewhat. palms, Wynn and mirage NCV come to mind @JeepologyOffroad @Okku.

Whose Mr. Reddington @Tommy?

I must have missed the Mirage!? When were those sold off?

We’re the Wynns officially sold - I thought they were another mystery eBay find, like the Rios? Maybe I’m remembering wrong.
Same way these wsop chips are being sold off, a few employees got to take hoards of roulette chips and Bac tournament chips out and sold them on eBay.

Rio going thru new ownership and my guess a ton got left behind.

I remember the sentence:
They laughed when they put the chips in the shredder…
It was the shredder team scooped all chips ; ))
