Heading to Mexico next week with the family, so naturally I’m looking to see if there’s any casinos nearby.
Found a casino pretty close and they have Paulson chips with a mold I’ve never seen before. I’d assume it’s maybe a very old mold which is no longer used? They look pretty cool, I like the design and I’m surprised I’ve never seen it before. Is it very common, anyone know anything about it?
Thanks

DO NOT PLAY CRAPS IN MEXICO

But yes it’s the denom mold…seen it in Vegas too (ballys and nugget I think?)

I’m surprised a casino in Cancun has one of the newest molds. I assumed they would be older rather than newer.
Macau Cancun had those chips when I went in Aug ‘21 and they weren’t mint…At least 4 years by now.

Did have some interesting spots on the $25

Don’t do what I did, don’t play craps here

Based on the real life pictures, the value mold appears to have broader shoulders than the RHC - be brochure doesn’t seem to reflect that though. Does anybody have side by side pictures?

Yes but just like RHC this mold features are too close to the chip edge, easier to get flea bites/chips into the mold. C'mon outer ring people.

Yes it does

Confirmed with a very precise expensive scientific caliper:

RHC- same as Lego head
Value- bigger than Lego head

Designed obsolesence, great for the casino reorder market. We should be glad the damn things don't break in half after a year of heavy use.

Value mold has been around for a while. Slightly different version from the late /early aughts

Those series of NJ-only custom house Paulson molds predate the current Value mold offered by GPI. New Jersey regulations once required that both casino identifier and check value be specified directly in the chip mold (and chip manufacturer was not).

I’ve seen this value/house mold for years. I know Golden Nugget had them (before those horrible Icon chips). I’d just never seen it with the top hat and cane/value.
Green chip also pointed out these are hologram chips, so I’d say actually pretty rare combining the mold and hologram labels together.

Man are those in pesos or dollars? You might be able to harvest a full set with little to nothing if it’s in pesos! Would also love a sample if it’s in pesos (price). Or a $5 and $25 if UsD

They were suspiciously calling winners as “no roll”

I’ve had several people reach out about sample sets.
I’ve never purchased sample sets myself and have no idea what a fair price would be for a sample set like this.
If anyone who knows more about this kind of thing and can help with information of a value for something like this please PM, I’d love to chat.
Thanks
