10 Vegas Casino Topper + Harolds Club (2 Viewers)

And for the seat draw, you have to find a chip from each casino and let them blindly choose it.
Seat draw process will be really classy even if PCF players can identify chips by touching them.

Or may be cards (?) and let people choose between ten :as: from ten decks from those ten casinos

I am picking up one of these for each casino on the felt. They are about 43mm and denominated $10, so they work perfect for seating chips and for $10 tourney bounty. Will also work as buy in for my 5c/10c game.

In your black monochrome design, “south” may need to be darkened (or lightened) to give it the same value on the mat due to the gradient in the betting line

I like all three designs. The red is the most “plush” of the three, I think, and is the classiest. I don’t care for the betting line on that one. It seems to blend into the surroundings. I think this is the only design element I’d monkey with too much though. It’s pretty solid all the way around.

I LOVE the betting line on the full color version. I think that was your ticket to getting the color logos to play well together

I agree with everything @Benjaminotaur said. Either way, you've got multiple production ready designs, now it just comes down to preference. Great work!

To my taste i find the #1 & #2 more classy/elegant. Really great design you've done.

The #3 colored version seems more like a patchwork and colors do not add any beauty or informations. Logos monocolor are strong by themselves.
Just my taste, I like minimal.

See my previous post - I did a variation with color back in.

This is a personal topper. But I'm happy to let others use it. I'm going to keep tweaking it tonight and then I'll order tomorrow. If it comes out well, then folks can have at it. I'm still unsure whether to go with gold gradient or colors.
On the patterns inside and outside of the betting line, have you thought about using a pattern that shows half the symbols/names upside down? So you can read half the names right side up from either side of the table.

I rotated the heads of my donkey on my tilted donkey toppers so that there’s not just one right side up view; it looks pretty much the same from either side of the table.

Edit: I also like the full color version the best. I don’t find it too busy.

I love all these. Are you designing this for a Barrington table? I have 2 new tables in the box I still need to get toppers for and my basement is Vegas themed. Hmm. I need a blackjack topper for one also.

Nice design. Looks great

Love the idea! Hate the monochrome logos. They need to be in the actual colors of the casino logos like the first pic.
I agree with this, except that when he uses all the different logo colors, it looks really sloppy and I dislike that too. It’s kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation.
But if I had to choose one or the other, I’d go with the monochrome gold and burgandy. Don’t love the monochrome individual logos, but the overall look is nice and tight.

Yes. I plan on leaving the design with @rjdev7

I originally had thought of using vintage red $5 from each casino in an air tite clear holder and have folks draw for seats. But then I decided I want to get those into play! That's when I thought of the silver strike token idea.

F***in awesome!

Love everything that you have done, but maybe I am the only one... I think the wording in the payline takes away from the design. I like that the placement of the casino names is based on their location on the strip... But actually spelling it out with words takes away from the cool subtle placement. I think it is cool if someone figures it out without having it spelled out for them.

Also, I am with others where I think the burgundy version is my favorite, but the color of the payline is the weak spot in that design.

Either way, I have more than enough toppers already but you did such a good job with this one that I may be adding another to my collection.

Just a little suggestion if you are open to it. In the center design, maybe take out the logos that you already have large on the racetrack (Excalibur, Circus Circus, Luxor, etc..) and replace those with logos that you didn't use on the racetrack. You have some classics in there that you shoudn't change like Dunes, Stardust, Aladdin, etc... but maybe exchange the double-ups with Mandalay Bay, New York New York, Wynn, Treasure Island, etc... Just a thought. Get more logos on one mat without changing the main features.

Okay. I think I have it.

I just have to decide which color. I like blue the most, but I am leaning green, because I want to do a different topper (totally different design) in maroon and I already have a Triton topper in blue. Different colors means I can more easily direct people if I have multiple tables going.

If anyone notices anything amiss, please say something now!

I took your advice. I think it improved it significantly!

I changed the text to the color of the felt, so I think it is a little less offensive to the eye. I agree with you (personally) but I think my crowd would not get it otherwise. And I hope the text prompts unnecessary trash talk over which side is better.

I also 100% agree. I wish I had more time. I have a move coming up in 5 weeks, I have to get this order in. I like @UniLover's idea of making one with classic, closed casinos. On the classic one, you could have the classic casinos on the outside and the current ones on the inside. And on this one, current casinos on the outside and closed ones inside.

I am going to get mine ordered. When it comes in, if it looks good, I might find time to improve it.

If anyone has pre-made vectors from Vegas casinos, if you send to me today, I can get them worked in, probably.

Can’t go wrong with Green and Gold. No bias here at all. Personally I’d lean Blue and Gold, my love for the Brewers completely not withstanding

Here is the other topper I have been working on. I am pretty happy with it. That said, constructive feedback is welcome! My main limit set will be a Harolds Club tribute.

Similar to my comment about the logos for the Vegas topper, I think your graphics will steal the show. A.) because they're really fun and playful. but B.) because they're just so big. The size of them also gives a definitive orientation to the topper. If you shrunk them down (1/4 size to 1/6 size) and oriented them to the betting line in opposing corners, you would get all the fun of the graphics, but keep the playing space more clear. I would think it would be pretty easy to let chips hang out there after a pot with all the action happening in those graphics.

All that said, it's just an opinion. BUT if you do keep things this big and stick with the definitive orientation, I would start your seat labeling in a different spot and rotate the letters in a clockwise rotation. Personally, I'd start with your "H" in either the current !"" spot or "S" spot

Great work!

Finished product here. I am really happy! @rjdev7 has the files. If anyone else orders this, I would recommend decreasing size of the Vegas logos to about 80% (@Benjaminotaur was right). Also, the outside green is a bit too dark for my taste - I'd lighten it a bit. I think it'd also look great in blue, red, and grey.

I am really happy the Harold's Club. The inner oval is stunning. The burgundy on the outside came out a little more purple tinged and darker than I was expecting but I think it still looks amazing!

Where can I get one of these and how much do they cost?

@Spinettis Gaming has a few and they are all over eBay. Search for "silver strike token casino" or for a specific casino "silver strike bellagio" or whatever. Prices range from $20 to $35 a piece. They have a substantial amount of silver in them and stackers (I think that is what they are called) collect them for their intrinsic mineral value.

Size comparison.

I originally planned on using $5 chips from the casinos on the felt as seating chips. But I decided I wanted to incorporate those into play. I was going to make custom ceramic seating chips but then I found the silver strikes!

Is it just me or do those colors look way off from the proof (especially the green)? Just wondering if you have any idea why, because the other toppers I’ve seen look pretty close to the proof pictures in general.

I was surprised by the colors. Thy are darker/dimmer than I was expecting. This is my first custom topper order, so I don't have a point of comparison.

Just looking at customer photos of finished products they certainly have the ability to make vibrant greens and yellows, etc. that’s why I was kind of surprised by the difference from your proofs.

Yeah, I am not sure what went wrong. The album you linked to does show more vibrant colors. I don't know if it is my fault for how I set up the file (although I used @rjdev's template and I double checked it is CMYK) or a manufacturer issue. It seems almost like the yellow did not come through like it should, resulting in less bright yellow in the gold areas, a more purplish and darker burgundy, and a dimmer/greyer green.

The photos I posted are pretty true to life.

I think the graphics turned out great, but I agree it does look flat compared to the proofs. It kinda looks like the Y cartridge on the printer was running low on Y. More yellow under the green and the purple would have brightened them up, and the strong yellow on the sign in Harolds and the fields in both felts looks washed out. Yellow is so heavily used on both of these designs, it might explain why both look like they're missing the same thing. It would be odd for both files to have been corrupted in the same way. Not impossible, but it would be weird.
