2022 law change - PayPal transactions over $600 (8 Viewers)

Some of their reporting is fine. But it is ran by Ben Shaprio. That dude is the absolute king of spin. I used to be able to listen to him until about 5 or 6 years ago. But nowadays I just can't take him anymore. Every time he opens his mouth, I feel like someone has to correct him. He constantly extrapolates shit that isn't true based on something else he just heard or read.
I’m EXTREMELY curious as to who/what you find to be a reputable news source. I’d pay to watch you in a debate with Ben.

Honestly, there aren't many major news sources I trust these days, if any. I find independent journalists where people from both sides honestly discuss issues together to be my favorite. Shows like Krystal & Sagar's Breaking Points, The Politics Guys podcast, and guys like Glenn Greenwald. Though I'm sure you can find stuff anyone does to miss the mark sometimes. I think these people are at least putting forth honest efforts. Whereas Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, etc., re pretty all just garbage entertainment with some broader motivations behind the shows.

In order to avoid having my pay pal account confiscated, I’m going to stop putting “BigFoot is Real!” In the notes of my chipping transactions.

Also, I haven't even read the full story and haven't read anything written by PayPal on the topic. But I'd still be willing to take bets on my prediction above. Any takers?
Any of the following sources acceptable for you? Good thing nobody took your bet...

Paypal is eating a big fat

right now and I'm just LMAO.

Utter fools. There was no mistake or error. They stepped in it. In EPIC fashion, they stepped in it.
Paypal simply made a mistake. Americans greatly prefer telling bald-faced lies that support their opinions over facts, and it's not even close.

I'd weep for the future of the country, but... f*ck 'em. If that's what they want... :x

If we fined Fauxi for every BS lie he's told to enrich himself, wed have to take back at least 1/2 the money he made last year
from gifts for lying to you. I can only imagine the leadership you'd bow to.

OMG. I would love to roll on the floor laughing at this comedy, but the scary part is that I don’t think you’re kidding. You in the market for beach front property??

If you are going for derogatory, I think the phrase “seat open” is meant to be the most demeaning of all insults. I got that from an expert, so you can trust it.

W T M F ... I just received an email from PP with this:

You've received $600+ in goods and services payments this year which the IRS considers taxable income. PayPal will make it easy for you by tracking your commercial income and sending you a 1099-K early next year. PayPal supports businesses by including Purchase Protection on eligible purchases, providing tools and reporting to help businesses run smoothly, and more.

... except that I didn't. I haven't received a single PPGS penny this year (nor should I since I don't sell stuff on PP). So, uh, what the hell...

I have no problems paying "the man" his due ... especially since I plan to live to 100 and mooch off of the system. But I don't like these mystery emails that are clearly wrong trying to get extra money out of me. I reached out to PP - let's see what they say.

In other news, I've sent waaaaaay too much money to PCF people and looking at my PayPal history was, uh, shocking  :ROFLMAO:

My completely uninformed guess is that PayPal has received guidance that, if they have reason to believe a person has received payments for goods and services, they are obligated to issue a 1099-K even if those payments were not made using the "goods and services" option in PayPal.

I would say that 90% of my PP received payment activity has a note of "Thank for you for the gift and being so generous" or just a PCF username. So either you're right, and they are just shot-in-the-darking it on everyone, or it's an error.

They’ve been making lots of coincidental convenient “errors” lately
