800 chips in Apache 4800 (1 Viewer)

So made the plunge ordered 800 chips as well as Justin racks and bought an Apache 4800. Looking for anybody else who has an Apache 4800 who could send pictures for examples of what and how they set it up. I'm hoping to be able to add cards as well as buttons to the case to have everything included in one. Would love to see you what you guys have done with yours.

So here are a few of my setups...

1000 chip set with 2 card setups and 4 DBs

Another 1000 chip set with 2 setups and 4 DBs. This set is double stacked instead of side stacked.

Another 1000... same stuff. Side stacked

1200 chip set, double stacked...

Another 1200 set, double stacked

I have more, but you get the idea... I keep my single table sets in the Apache 3800 cases.

With only 800 chips, you will have plenty of room in that case to pretty much do whatever you want.

Note that if you are going to side stack like I have (I like that look better), then you need to lay down a single layer of the foam inserts underneath for the racks to sit level with the top of the foam like mine do. Otherwise, they will sit down recessed some and the racks will move in that space when the case is up on end. Once, I remove the large section of my inserts, I then tear off a single row of the cubes the length of where the chips go and lay them down sideways. Rinse and repeat until you have raised the floor of the case up one cube width under where your chips will sit. This method closes that gap and makes the racks sit level. I can take pictures of what I am talking about if that doesn't make sense. If you double stack, you don't need to lay anything underneath as the racks fit snug.

Taking those pictures reminded me that I still need to Plasti-Dip the foam in that CIC set case...

I will say that the ones where the card setups are up against the chips make it a lot easier to get the racks in and out. When you pull the cards out first, you then have a grab area to get your hand down to lift the rack. The ones that are snug are a little more work to not wreck the foam.

Re-arranged my 800 chip set up. I like this better than what I had. Can see all the racks at once this way. They aren't difficult to get out of the case on gameday. The Medicine Tube is for actual quarters. I also keep a bank money bag in the case for holding the buy-ins.

When you buy a 4800 new, it has pluckable foam in it that you can modify how you want. Once you tear it apart to the way that works for you, many of us spray it with Plasti-dip to keep the remaining foam from coming apart and making it more durable.

Echo'd. Just use the stock foam, if you don't like that then buy some of the custom sets, but I have two different sets in Apache cases and the sprayed stock foam is more than enough. 800 43mm in a 3800 and 1300+ 43mm in a 4800.

Has anybody tried the can version of Plasti-dip, instead of the spray?

The can is designed for actually dipping things into it. I am not sure how it would actually brush on, but you could give it a try. I think the spray is perfect for this application though.

you can buy the Apache cases on their own from Harbor Freight at much more reasonable prices. Then go to MyCaseBuilder for the foam only ...

How much is custom foam? Is it worth it over spraying the foam with plastidip

Yeah, but the foam at MyCaseBuilder is quite expensive, and is nearly double the price that the case is from Harbor Freight, which seems rather counterintuitive...

800 chips and under, just get the 3800. The 4800 is overkill unless you want to include lots of space for accessory chips, dealer buttons and card setups.

3x2x2 = 12 Justin Racks = 1200 Chips

If you replace the 1" bottom foam with 1/2" bottom foam you can fit a 3rd layer making this 1800 chips PLUS decks buttons etc. That will get heavy FAST though. The weight of holding a 4800 makes me think that the 5800 truthers may have been onto something. If you can't fit everything in a 3800, anything past that goes from heavy to VERY heavy, lol.
