Hi.

Say you wanted to create a 500 piece casino set, to cost no more than $500, you could potentially make a set made up of relabelled fracs and $1 chips from different casinos.

So... What chips would you use? Let's say for the sake of argument that relabelling/milling/hotstamping isn't an issue...

I've toyed with the idea of putting together a set using Bally's/Paris/Mirage 1's for kind of a matchy-matchy mono-chromatic set.

This is kind of a fun little exercise... Another idea for a 5 and a 100

Finding $1's outside of blue and white is the hard part for sure!

The Jerry's Nugget $1 has to be in consideration for whatever white will he used.

The yellow Mirage $1 could work as a $5. I don't care for it though, they always look dirty.

Here's a green one. It's probably some kind of plastic, but it sure looks like a Paulson plain mold.

Edit: An eBay seller says it's a plastic chip made by game-on.

Aren't those really hard to find?

:D and wasn't this a part of OP 'Say you wanted to create a 500 piece casino set, to cost no more than $500'...LOL
Yeah, and that's hard these days no matter what you do. Impossible with most of the chips suggested.

I'm not sure why, but I would include Funster's $5 chips. I love them! I actually like the whole set, but not a big fan of the labels.

And here comes the scope creep! Remember -

Must be no more than a dollar a chip - so in other words, you're probably using readily available, current chips that you could get from any casino or cardroom. So that's probably going to be fracs (where available) and ones.

fracs are rarely available in quantity at face value.

Is that because the games are very limited, or do casinos only allow a certain percentage of a buy in as fracs (to prevent frac-theft?)

I've never heard of a casino that will sell you a rack of fracs. You get them as "change" at table games. This is why racks of motor city quarters go for over $200/rack, even though they're live chips.

Makes sense - thanks for the info.
