@bsdunbar1 and I are contemplating starting up a group buy for some custom Parks and Rec chips in a week or two. The two of us, and @p5woody will be the design team. We already have some graphics in place. There is still a lot of work too do. This isn't an interest thread, design thread, ect....

What I want to know is your opinion on the chips that ABC Gifts and Awards produces. I'm looking at 39 mm chips. My understanding is that they have a chipco blank and a house blank. Have you handled both? opinions? if you only own one of them, which one? thoughts? If you don't want to post anything negative feel free to PM me.

We will only have to hit 3000 chips to get the .69 per chip price. If we get close to that I think both @bsdunbar1 and myself will cover about 2k worth of chips.

Again, please post any pictures of the ABC chips that you own with your complete thoughts. Good, Bad, and the ugly. If you ordered a set, did you have any regrets? What would you do differently?

Thank you for your time.

I will be deciding on what I'm doing after the Alamo. I will be able to get some of @CraigT78 ABC chips into play!

The ABC Blanks are the same as the Dia De Los Muertos, and other BR Pro chips, correct? They're fantastic, as are @CraigT78's Windy Crest!

I just rec'd a couple barrels of DDLM's (I invented this abbreviation! :wow:) today! They stack great, no slipping or sliding, no spinners.

ok, I didn't invent the abbreviation; I had just never seen it before.

I believe that the DDLM's are on the house blank. My WCPR limit set was on the ChipCo blank (there is an upcharge for the ChipCo blank)

They both feel great but I think the general consensus is that the Chipco blanks have more texture and grip to them. I don’t care for the white ring either but it’s not a deal breaker

You don't have to have a white ring

I don't think they should be in the group by forum for whomever moved the thread. I'll be starting a new thread once that process starts. This thread is to discuss ABC's blanks.

@Tommy

If you want it here I don't really care just pointing it out then I'll be doing a second group buy thread once the design process starts

Hrm. I'd love to see the design, but I could take a small set if I dig them.

We're not there yet. And I told Steve to hold off on any more work until I actually get the chips and play at the Alamo.

If I move forward with this there will be seating chips, dealer buttons, and plaques.

Hahahaha... Pretty obvious I totally missed that one line. Go me. I'm a moron.

But it still stands....

I own a lot of ceramics from ABC. The biggest difference in blanks to me, is that the Chipco blank is more textured and grips better. The House blanks they use are a touch more slippery but I wouldn't call them a slippery chip. They still stack well and don't have spinners etc. If I had a choice and money wasn't an issue I would upgrade to the Chipco. Both are great though.

Only ABC’s I have are samples of the Chipco’s, but I really like them. Nice weight and feel, and they have a sort of matte finish to them that I dig for sure.

I don't have any ABC chipcos but have owned both casino chipcos (Caribbean Poker Classics) and home market chipcos (Crystal Oysters). Both are nice but I actually prefer my DDLM chips better, they're buttery smooth and stack like bricks.

I’ve never handled the chipco chips, but I have a two table tournament set of the wsop tributes and some of the DPR chips on the ABC blank and love them!

I have a Chipco set and a few samples if ABC chips. I like the ABC samples enough that I'm considering a cash set of the 'High Stakes' chips w/custom wording.

This thread has made me pull my sample set of these out of the drawer they’ve been sitting in for months, and god damn they feel good.

Gotta admit I’m not wild about the actual base colors of the chips themselves though. I don’t know enough to know if this is ABC’s full range or if they can do other colors. They might be able to do any color/shade under the sun, for all I know.

Those are the Chipco blanks. Damn nice chips.

My oversized Aria ceramics are on some miscellaneous Chinese blank, but they are really nice. I do have now fairly old cash and tournament sets that I purchased as new made by Chipco and you have definitely used both of them. For my money Chipco are the best ceramics but I don’t have much if any experience with ABC blanks. I know I have played with slippery ceramics that I did not really care for all that much, the zombies come to mind.
