I am just seeing this thread for the first time
- just curious, did the chip room sell any minty chips from this casino or were they all casino used?

Only mint chips were 12 racks of hundo’s, those are FANTASTIC.
After COVID they used secondary chips to start up again…those were mistaken for the primary and thus got destroyed and Jim only got primary chips. For the life they had on the tables, everything 500 and up can be found in great condition.

fully leaded stuff…I have 3 mint racks of hundos, a rack of VGC $500 and 60 cherry picked IHC 1K (these are heavy!)
Some of the best RHC chips I own

This year's BF haul...cleaned and oiled. I think the MS tourney structure were turbos only using the 25/100 chips. :wow:

Side note: I think the 100's are really brown.

With my low limit set from the previous sale 25 thru 1k were played and dirty...looks like the 25 to 100 were the working chips. These chips a

This edition of majestic star chips is in very good shape....1s are new and 5s played barely to never. 25+ are used but still stand on end.

Just curious as I have a large set of these inbound. I am wondering about the condition of the chips for playable ease of function. Would you say that all of the stacks of 20-25&100 value chips are fairly even in height? thus could be compared side by side fairly well for counting?.....then likewise the 500-5k are able to be campared by barrel stacks for counting purposes? The 1s look fairly new and the 5's fairly close? Also are they leaded like the above set?

In terms of condition, the 25's & 100's are very similar to each other and can easily be counted in stacks off one another. The other chips (1/5/500/1000) are similar to each other as well and can easily be counted and compared to each other. (Not that 1/5 stacks ever see table time with the 500/1000) The thinner 25/100 are a full chip lower than the thicker group which really only comes in to play for me when putting them away in racks.

With that said, I had them in play this week (5's thru 1K's) and we never had an issue. I warned everyone that when stacking their chips to be aware of the varying thickness and it wasn't a problem. They were great to play with and the 1K is wonderful. I don't know if it's blaze or sherbet or what, but holy smokes that was a treat!

I don't know if they are leaded, I didn't weigh them....but now that you say that, one player told me the 25/100 felt heavier than the thicker chips, even though they were thinner. : O

When I first saw the condition, I was like...hmmm...but playing them, there was no issue - didn't even notice it in the least. I am thrilled to have the set. It's cool, but I will admit, I don't mind casino used chips. Minty's are cool, but casino used have better stories.

And what the casino looked like when open.... They had great music playing in the background

I wonder...... Will there be Roulette chips in a future TCR sale?????????

@ 2:24 you can see a few stacks of $100's on the Roulette table if you look close up near the wheel. (re the screen shot, behind the guys head)

I picked these up face value ~2005 (I liked to bring a barrel or more home from casino visits. I wanted to make a mixed set of white $1's but never finished.)
I used to travel every year to the convention center outside O'Hare and took a drive one time to the MS.
I do not remember the entrance as posted in the OP; they must have had a BIG facelift later on (lol).

I would guess all are in better condition than most in the sale. Edges are not rounded, but have assorted dings.
I did not notice I had two versions until just now. I noticed the edge spots were more narrow on some chips and not as rounded on the inside.
Then the obvious hit me: red and black $1 print.

I must have picked these two up at the same time.
Hard to believe they were still in play 10 years after the opening.
I think I picked them out of a rack of mixed.

One of Thomacetti's uncirculated, minty fresh racks I was able to procure, now I just have to find the right set for them.
