High Hand
I used an Eylar which I found on Amazon, comparable to the Apache 4800 but about 3” less length. It cost a little more but it was worth it to me not to take any driving time to Harbor Freight.
My only concern was the latch wasn’t double-secure, but I can do that on my own with a small lock, which I’m going to do anyways since cash will be in there. It can fit more chips but I wanted to keep space for a small bank, Copag card case, and this wooden box holding some buttons I really like that my players enjoy, too. Everything I need to play comfortably is in there.
Honestly I’m really happy with it, I spent some time on mycasebuilder, and glued extra foam to the bottom of the top racks to keep the underlying chips more snug. Don’t mind the different chips, I was just using whatever was nearby to press and mark down the bottom foam, where I cut with an exacto knife just to let the edges of the Justin racks sink in a little and not waste space.
I sprayed like 6 coats of plasti-dip and put some skewers in the thin foam lining between the racks for stability and it’s working! My only regret is not just placing the racks side-by-side without the foam in between, but that’s minor.
The next case I invest in will be similar but with just small circles for the buttons instead of the wooden case that holds them, with two layers that are laser-cut to fit individual stacks, to fit 800-1000 total. What do you guys think? I put a lot of thought into the layout and it really suits the home game I play right now, starting at .25/.25 for $15-$25 buying.
Oh, I bought some poker guards for my closest friends / players, I’m the most experienced player and I want to be a gracious winner. Ima put them in the box and hand them out as a thank you for making it to my first home game.
Thank you everyone who posted their cases and layouts and all their tips, it guided me a TON!
