1800+ Chip Case Options (1 Viewer)

So, I'm looking at a tournament set 1800-2300 chips. I know, it's likely way more that I will need, but... looking for suggestions to storage and travel. The game we play is not at my place, but I provide the chips. This mean travel back and forth, at least for another year or more while the remodel and everything happens at my place. Then I can put together a space for a more permanent poker room.

Apache 5800 seems to be about my only option, but wanted to see what else is out there. Anyone with a 5800, what has your experience been like with it? Would you go that route again?

We run 3 tables so it’s the size tourney I need. With rebuys and addons sometimes I’m only left with 1-2 T25ks left.

This case is the Apache 5800. It has the extending arm and wheels. I cart this back and forth since I don’t host at my home. This case is heavy as hell and if it didn’t have when’s old probably put it on a small dolly.

i remember seeing a couple what looked to be maybe a hard sided rifle case that was customized. Thinking if I end up with the 2250pc, that might be the only way to go. Whatever it is, gonna have to have wheels. Anyone know the photos I'm talking about, I can't seem to find them again.

For Chip cases over 1800+ I have personally found tool boxes and a later rolling tool box to be the most economical and convenient chip storage options for me.
The small box holds up to 2600 chips in either regular or 40mm prc racks


Then the larger matching case holds 3600 chips.

Of course my customs needed cases and being approx 2100 & 3575 chips each the red boxes made more sense. So my HSI and tourney sets needed a home. There is also room for my a.c.d.c. set in this monster

With drawers holding chips in various patterns


Overall I am at
3x small tool boxes (custom sloth CPC in
one and majestic star 36mm ncv in
two)
1x large tool boxes (custom cards mold
sloth)
1x bud Jones casino chip box (with two of my favorite commercial slugged sets)
1x Big red rolling toolbox (per above, yes its full)
1x 650 chip aluminum chip case (majestic star cash set)
Then there the empties
1x 500chip aluminum case
2x birdcage 1k chip
1x 1000 chip aluminum case
*** the empties being easy options for quick transfer to fill smaller more mobile kits from the larger heavier cases. The red tool boxes are mobile, plus as a safety feature they are 26+ & 36 kg each.

Where did you get the 26" one? I bought the smaller one because i could not find the battlecruiser one.

Also if your chips don't fit perfectly in your tray (if they sit too high) be careful about stacking the racks three racks high because it will be slightly higher than the side support and the tray will rest on the chips rather than on the side supports.

This isnt an issue if your chips fit perfectly in your tray but if they dont (if there is a gap under each chip) you may be putting pressure on the chips and damaging them.

Unfortunately the battlecruiser on the right is no longer listed on the website. The logo brand on the boxes say "Torin".
These cases have a built in handle that loaded chip rack fit underneath (3 racks high, both standard and the PRC clamshell racks). Then on the top both versions allowed for 2 racks of 39mm chips. Racks with covers only fit 1x high on the top tray.

So I now have like 2300 chips in the toolbox but its bordering on too heavy to lift. Great reminder for me to hit the gym.

Better off with 2x apache 3800. much more manageable.

980 chips on bottom layer plus foam or maxed out at 1480 chips with foam.

Mind the weight and split it in two cases.
Even if you 're not old, the best case scenario is that you 'll get old.
