I've seen some concern about the thickness of Triton/Gutshot mats making picking up cards difficult for some. requiring pushing down on the back edge to lift the card. This worries me, and I really like the feel of foam under a felt, both for ease of picking up/shuffling cards, and also for how chips interact with the table with vs without.
I wonder if it would be possible to adhere a thin layer of foam to the table surface in two halves to still faciliate the folding feature, for the included mat (or a custom one) to rest on? I can't think of a reason why not (other than the seam created being too much for a topper to overcome), but just wanted to see if anyone else has tried or thought about this type of modification?
Maybe attaching a thin layer of foam backing to the topper itself in one piece would solve the creasing issue, but not sure how it would stand up to being rolled up and stored over and over. I have heard of folks simply laying one of
@rjdev7 's custom toppers on top of the included topper to increase the thickness, that might just be the best of all worlds.
