So, I need some help. I recently played with CPC Atlantic Club samples, and I really like them. Plus, I’m quite fascinated by the big 44mm chip (the $25,000 one).

And I'm thinking about buying another set, but a tournament one. Obviously, it would be a T25-T100 setup for about ten players. But I’m not entirely sure—do I really need $25K chips in that setup?

The second issue, which is just as important: maybe I should order a custom one? ? But the long wait time and all the struggles with designing them make me want to cry…
So I’m at a crossroads. I’d love to get both options, but that would be pure madness. I know I’m already overloaded with chips, and this would basically be a duplicate of what I already have.

I talked to my wife yesterday, showed her the samples and my current set. She was a bit skeptical (looks like women have a sixth sense for money flow…), but she said she prefers my set, with the Atlantic Club in second place. The Rounders set was a complete outsider.

But, only the scroll and A molds give 44 mm. Maybe throw them away and not think about it? I like the idea of having big chips in the set, but not so much that I just own them and just keep them in the box.
This will most likely be hot stamped again to SAVE MONEY :-).

Also, I don't have a specific theme in mind right now. But, I also like the Atlantic Club labels. Simple and clean. They are really beautiful in person.

I try to help:
If you want CPC chips, don‘t save money for something else.
If you want them now - get a stock set. They‘re great, but available for everyone (security).
If you‘re patient enough - place an order for a custom set.

You won‘t regret buying CPC chips.
They get better with every game you play with!

If you're smallest chip is T25, you're starting stacks are what, T5000 (12/12/7)? For 10 players, that's T50,000 in play, or T65,000 with 30% of players rebuying.

For a T100 base, you're starting stacks are T20,000 (10/10/9)? For 10 players, that's T200,000 in play, or T260,000 at a 30% rebuy rate.

In either of those circumstances, I don't see a need for a T25,000 chip.

If you want a T25,000 chip in play, consider a T500 base with T100,000 starting stacks (12/14/16). Then you'll have T1,000,000 in play or T1,300,000 with 30% rebuys. You could use a barrel of T25,0000 chips in that scenario, depending on your blinds schedules (i.e. if it's slow enough at the big levels).

waiting is no fun, especially when its gonna be a long wait. do both, thats what i just did in december. placed a custom order, then bought a rounders set. i have zero regrets.

Thanks for the advice!
Sounds good. This is a great way to save chips in the STT set. In this sense, T100 and T500 seem more attractive, and one of them will allow for a $25k chip.

Most importantly, I’ll likely stay within 300-400 chips.

So, here’s what I have:

Option 1: Write to David, specify the required number of Atlantic chips (about 320 chips) for T100 or T500, and receive them in two weeks.
This is simpler and makes it easier to sell the chips if I get tired of them.

Option 2: Write to David and order a custom 400-chip set with four denominations. Pay more and wait. Then get them stamped.
This is more complicated. Selling them would be very difficult—unless there’s a good discount.

On the other hand, neither option will bring much financial benefit. It’s more about enjoyment. A couple of days ago, I sold a brand-new Matsui set of 700+ chips with acetate cards for €250… at a huge loss. But I’m glad they went to a beginner who was looking for quality plastic.

Actually, I have :
- small Paulson cash set for 6 people,
- Paulson cash set for 10 people,
- Paulson T5 tournament set for 10-20 players,
- small ceramic travel set for 4 people,
- 400 solid HTC chips that I want to re-stamp (but don’t even have time to clean),
- CPC set of 1,100 chips (@LeGold It was a gift from my wife :-) ) covering stakes from $0.05 to $1/2 for 10 players... plus T25 tournament set for 10 players, which can also be used as a T100 set for 8 players.

To me it sounds like you should order the Atlantic Club chips. You either LOVE creating or you don't. For me it's 90% of what drives my chip obsession. Others struggle to come up with ideas they feel good about and find the process stressful. It sounds like you are in that boat a bit. Personally I think the Atlantic's are a pretty decent stock option. Attractive enough inlay with decent colors and edge spots. As you know, i am sure they would hold their value pretty well if you ever decided to unload.

If you end up selling your custom chips, you failed (I failed twice with my first and second custom sets).

If I could do it again I'd go with a stock set with a good breakdown (which can be sold) until I had a solid custom theme idea.
