I'd hate to disrupt those who have already won/advanced past the first round, so option 1 would work fine for me.

Since the other two people had a 1/4 chance of making the finals, you could have him flip against a "dummy". If he wins both, (1/4chance) you could have a three way final (who doesn't love a three way). If he loses either then he's out. Just a suggestion from someone who loves watching flips
