So just a few quick updates.

I did get an offer from a member to purchase the set outright. I told him I would give it a day or so to see how the raffle was going and let him know. Since I started this as a raffle, and all things equal I would like to give those interested in this format an opportunity, I'm going to hold the raffle open for another 24 hours to see if there are enough tickets sold to make it go forward.

Also, here are some more details about the freeroll tournament (contingent upon the raffle going forward). This tournament would be open to any PCF members who joined before this post was created yesterday. You need to sign up for a pokerstars account (if you don't already have one) and then PM @Tommy for approval to join the PCF home game group. I will then setup a NLHE tournament (freeze-out, no rebuys) that everyone is welcome to enter. Time/Date TBD. There will be up to 6 tickets available for the prize pool with payouts as follows.

2-7 players, 1st place gets 1 ticket
8-11 players, 1st place gets 2 tickets
12-15 players, 1st place gets 2 tickets, second place gets 1 ticket
16-19 players, 1st place gets 3 tickets, second place gets 1 ticket
20+ players, 1st place gets 3 tickets, second place gets 2 tickets, third place gets 1 ticket

You should at least make sure you sell enough tickets to equal members offer for the chips. This coming from the guy that I'm sure wants this set more than anyone. But still you shouldn't pass up on more chipping funds!
Just my thoughts.

That's essentially what I'm using as a threshold for the number of tickets needed to be sold in order to move forward with the raffle.

So maybe i read it too quickly and missed it.

But what is the threshold number of tickets sold to keep it in raffle town?

I didn't explicitly say, in part because I didn't want to divulge the member's specific offer publicly. I didn't think it would be fair to him as it might encourage competing offers, which would basically turn this into a de facto auction (which was not my intention).

However, I did mention that it was an offer that would pretty much require almost all of the 60 available tickets to be sold, so I suppose it doesn't take a lot of maff skillz to figure out what ballpark the offer was in. :)

1 unless 2 will push us over the no auction threshold haha. Is it 60 entries plus the free roll or including?

As I originally wrote the OP, it was a max of 60 tickets sold plus the 6 extra tickets.

However, I don't mind including the 6 free roll tickets as part of the 60 max entries, which would increase everyone's odds of winning by 10% (y) That makes it 54 total tickets to be sold, plus 6 tickets to be given away in the free roll tournament, for a total of 60 tickets.

So if we can hit 54 ticket sold (we're almost at 40 now), I will run the tournament to give away the last 6 tickets and then run the raffle.

OP updated with the above info.

So it looks like we're going to fall a bit short in terms of ticket sales to go forward with the auction. As of right now, pending payment, the chips have been sold to a member who made an offer on the set. Should that fall through, we can revisit the raffle.

However, I don't want everyone who showed interest in a raffle to be left empty handed. So assuming the chip sale goes through, I will run a consolation prize raffle for all those who posted prior to this post. No entry fee of any kind is required, this will be completely free raffle. Details/prize to be specified in a little while, stay tuned. :)
