Best Gambling Movies of All Time (2 Viewers)

I don't think that was bad writing. I haven't seen the movie in a while, but I remember Gerry being kind of a hapless guy. You've never been in a situation where you knew your cards weren't going to win a hand, and you knew it wasn't a hand you were gonna go after anyway? I could totally see a guy like Gerry laying it down right there, especially with that flop.
Good writing, I say!

Ya, I like the writing other than that. There wasn't a bet into him, he could have just checked. I think it was just a mistake.

Looks like an interesting movie, but I'm scoring it a D- for the chips I saw in the trailer.

For Pete's sake get some faux casino chips made by CPC. Given the total cost of films in general, spending a few thousand on credible chip props doesn't even qualify as a drop in the bucket.

It’s been a long time since I saw it, but I seem to recall that in The Man With the Golden Arm, Frank Sinatra at one point deals in a poker game.

(Good actor, that guy. Heard he could sing a little, too.)

If people who play poker for years, host tournaments and play in casinos are still using shitty dice chips because they don't know any better you think a movie producer is?

Does it have to be an american movie? My first gambling movie I watched at my grandpas .. good memories
Love this movie, but they definitely could cut a good 30 minutes of filler from the middle. Wish I could find a copy of the sequel with the same lead. Edit: Watching a clip of the final scene, he dramatically beats the villain in 5 card stud. After the villain shows a K to 9 straight flush of hearts, Chown Yun Fat reveals his A to 5 straight flush of hearts, which is apparently better in that universe.
