To bring some plastic poker chips on the table, I share with you in exclusivity my Matsui "Last Kingdom" relabel project.
At the beginning of this project, I was inspired by a pcf sale of a set of Matsui "4 Crown" (thanks
@Pinball). The choice of assortments and edgespots were just what I like. I decided to buy it. The set was quite complete in itself (from 25 to 10k), despite low numbers from 5k upwards, but I saw that there were other "compatible" Matsui to complete my set. I'm thinking here of "Macao Casino" cash game chips. The idea of having NCVs sounded good to me to give flexibility to my Matsui set. The seller of the Macao chips warmed me up with Lighthouse 5s, which I declined at first (I wanted ncvs and the edge spots didn't fit), then I revised my ambition...
Why not make a Matsui set that covers a wide range of uses, and can also be used in micro cash games? As a result, the Lighthouse 5s became interesting. I thought they were nice, in a colour and finish that complemented my initial Matsui set, and then so much for the edgespots... With the two Macau denoms in ncv, I could have 1 and 0.25 chips, perfect! I also thought that if one day I got my hands on some Lighthouse 1s, it could be pretty good... And while keeping an eye on the Lighthouse 1's, I became aware that another Matsui high limit set was available for trade...and I loved the yellow 25k. By mixing this high limit set with what I already had, I covered a very large spectrum...at the price of not always homogeneous edgespots...but it's a lesser evil I think, by integrating an inlay that goes well... I was then tempted by the Matsui Radisson Aruba $2.5 (The Chip Exchange) which matched well with the $5 Lighthouse. I finally purchased a new denomination for the 25 chips directly from Matsui. I also have two sets of ncv chips that can be used in bounty or time bank.
For the design of the label, I wanted to create a fictional casino, with the idea of a last place where it is still possible to play and triumph (Last Kingdom casino). There is a kind of sunset that expresses this feeling of the end of a kingdom. It changes colour according to the denomination. Two lions challenge each other for a crown. On the bounty and time bank chips, the lion is alone and crowned. The crown is set with diamonds and the two lions form a heart with the sun. The realisation was then entrusted to
