What are some of your recommendations for a chip set, Looking in the range of $500 or less. I really like "the mint" from clay smith but can't find them anywhere anymore. Ceramics would be cool too.

TIA

Edit; also looking for set to be 750/1,000 chips

There are probably a couple different threads on this but typically the information we need are:

What's your budget? (500 or less)
Are you playing cash or tournament?
How many players do you usually get?
What stakes cash or tournament structure do you usually play?

Welcome!
Lets start with the chip count you are looking for.. I wrote a post just for you, you can find the link in my signature (landscape on mobile)

Cash game, .25/.50cent blinds sometimes 1/2. anywhere from 6/10 people. But majority of the time 8 people.

Here is a pretty standard break out of a 600 chip break out for 25c/50c cash game. It's a bit light for a $1/2 game.

25c x 100
$1 x 200
$5 x 200
$25x80
$100x20

Gives you $5225 bank if I did my math correctly. A bit light for a $1/2 game imo but you can almost add on ; some people like 4 racks of $5s. Some more.

What brand or website do you recommend using? I am a bit weary of where to buy chips from random websites.

So tell us cash or tourney, and the blind structure. I think you’re budget is on par for some Tinas

Cash usually .25/.50cent blinds. Sometimes 1/2 usually 8 people. I only want .25, $1, $5, $10 chips. maybe $25 but the 1/2 games are very rare. Also usually do $20/$40 buy ins for the .25/.50 game. $50/$100 buy in for 1/2

Broken Arrow group buy for Tina hybrids.
get samples first to see what kind/material of chips you like the best.

Swap out those $10/$25 chips for $20s. 600 chips will be plenty, and cost less than $400 shipped:

100 x 25c
200 x $1
200 x $5
100 x $20

$3225 bank. Can always let $100 bills play if the rare 1/2 game gets crazy.

Skip the $10's...makes little sense when you have $5's. If you're a smart shopper, you can find a great set on your $1/chip budget. You might even want to reach out to Jim @TheChipRoom in a private message and see what options he has available.
