I’ve been absent for a while, I just picked up some solids on eBay for absolutely no reason. :)

Just wanted to jump in and say… “BEWARE OF THE GRAIL”

One thing I have noticed about chipping, for me at least. When I acquire a personal chipping goal, I disappear for a while… the fun is in the hunt for me.

My first go round was back in the blue wall days, Jim’s grand Vic sale was when I culminated. I built a set of leaded non-denom, and disappeared.

Came back a few years later and caught the bug again. @Sprouty and @Ethan had a handle on the roulettes and they helped me grow the set. I waited for Jim’s next sale and it was roadhouse… bought those and disappeared…

Roadhouse weren’t my cup of tea… so I came back to sell them and worked on leaded solid THCs and learned how to mill… I was mostly absent., I would peep in to check out what Jim might release…

Horseshoe S.I. Came out, I went WAY overboard with that… a couple lucky clicks and I had everything I could possibly want from a mint RHC set. (What’s left is a Giant sec. MTT set) I disappeared.

I knew what I really needed. CPCs… so I spent time studying, mocking up chips and logos, studying what people had done… I was ready to pull the trigger.

I designed and paid for a set of CPCs… for the most part I kept it hush… I never posted screenshots of my final mock ups. Once the order was in… i waited, and I started drifting away from the forum, the hunt was over.

I received the chips over a year ago… not too shabby! literally no desire to post them… even after all that work… I’m dreading doing one of those CPC pron photo shoots haha. :( I’ve been mostly absent ever since.

BEWARE THE GRAIL, because for this chipper, it marked the end of the hunt… bittersweet.

Also, I need to light a fire under my ass to do that CPC photoshoot. :) Now… it’s gotta happen this year. So here is a tease.

These were the chips dusty and chalky the day I received them. These were the chippes that sent me on vacation.

Really well done. I feel like a lot of CPCs recently have gone down a similar design route with the simple, clean design aesthetic (which I love, don't get me wrong), but this inlay is a refreshing departure from that trend.

Honestly, I always disliked full picture type inlays, but it became an obsession for me to add all those little elements and it not look annoying.

It’s really hard to design things this small, literally I was down to the pixel on some of the stuff.

It’s a complete fantasy casino, I’ll tell a story in a different post… but completely original design to answer your question.

Congrats on the customs, and welcome back? Can I ask what brought you back this time?

I ask bc I wonder if I’d take a similar approach once I finish all my set projects

It was eBay… I still look occasionally for odd finds on eBay,, I have a few keyword searches that still notify me, and these popped up.

What’s weird is that I have another rack of that whitish color, I love it, it’s a weird color, definitely not white, not off white, not grey or showboat grey, not almond, not tan. For the life of me I don’t know what Paulson color it is, what’s weird is it’s not C&J either, the ones I have are leaded bricks… it’s like the lightest gray tinted white…

But I got these chips for 60 a rack and now I’ll have 300 of this weird white/gray color… and when that happens that means I had to rethink my entire solids collection :) so yesterday I was scrolling trying to find other iterations of that color… and nope…

Maybe it’s a leaded off white, really I’ve only seen unleaded off white in person, but it’s very different from this color.

I've been waiting for you to finally post these. I remember when you were coming up with the idea. Not sure if you remember but I lived a few blocks from the San Fernando mission in Mission Hills for almost 10 years. Would love a sample set when available.

Paulsons “off white” is their lightest shade of gray, I think that’s what those are. Especially if they’re leaded, the only whiteish chip options were white, off white, and almond.
