Putting a room back together after taking several years off from hosting. I build some tables and added some supplies. Still a work in progress. I have tourney chips and cash game chips for either type of event. Mostly run tourney's currently with the stable of players - the occasional cash game - lower stakes.

Tournaments:
Usually a deep stack - $40 gets you 100K in chips, start at $100 / $200 levels (so really deep) - structure is set to go 5.5 hours on a Friday night and 8 hours on a Saturday. Long tourney but there is a lot of play. One re-buy up to first break (1.5 hours in). Usually 1 table of 8 but sometimes 2 tables of up to 8 each. Usually ends at $60k / $120k blinds of slightly higher (if no chop).

Cash:
Usually $40 - $60 buy-in. Blinds are $0.25 and $0.50. Relaxed atmosphere. Usually play for about 4 to 5 hours. Getting a few more larger chip sizes to host a $200 buy-in with $1 / $2 game. Need to get some more $5 chips for that.

Thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?

You have the room, the chips and the tables. Biggest concern should be the chairs (never stop spending on something better) and lighting, which must be strong but NOT blinding, straight in the eyes of players.

Irrelevant: @Moxie Mike are you currently in Greece?

Beat the 49ers next time? Just kidding but you did ask for thoughts/ideas/suggestions!

My weakest link is seating. If I can ever stop buying chips I am looking to upgrade there...
