but is says EST at the bottom by the seller so thats 10:26

I think it will go by the uptop Eastern Time so I think the auction ended 57mins ago

You get my point though? Difficult for someone not from the US taking the OP at face value to know that they have to be able to navigate the intricacies of another country’s daylight savings policy before they place a bid in the aforementioned auction… :wtf:

there we have it. I fucke# it up.

Totally understand the problem here. No one’s fault. I understand the confusion 100%

Eastern time and EST is the same thing.

But currently USA is recognizing EDT.

EDT = daylight savings times it’s stupid

But we can let a mod decide

yeah next time Bon Scot you should message the seller so their is no confusion but I get where you are coming from

Eastern Time

and Eastern Standard Time

are both different

double you might want to just say you will redo the auction ? so everyone has a fair shot or just leave it open for another 28mins or something till midnight eastern time

Anyway I’m away back to bed. Got up an hour ago for a pee and now I’m getting moaned at because the light from my phone is disturbing herself’s beauty sleep.

No I’ll let a moderator decide. There was 2 endings. They happened. One was correct. See how the mod wants to handle it.

It’s fine mate. There’s nothing wrong with the auction other than the site doesn’t let you choose EDT. Not your fault.

@Benjaminotaur has won them.

Think everyone can see where the confusion lies and hopefully it’ll be fixed going forward.

just next time Double put ET in you're description instead of EST and you ill be all good to go

it is weird but if you google ET u will get 11:41pm if you google EST u will get 10:41

Thank you @BonScot for being gracious amongst the confusion.

As a token of good sportsmanship (auctionsmanship?, chipmanship??), I’d like to send you a sample of the set I’m building once it’s completed, if you’re interested.
It’s cool mate. Just one of those things.

I’m looking forward to seeing your set when it’s finished. No need to send me a sample set but thanks for the kind offer.

Auction rules state all auctions end with the time stated for the Eastern Time Zone, which is why it auto populates to that time zone and states it at the top. I'm sure that is what the mods would likely tell you too.

It gives the time in EST when in fact it should be EDT. It’s unreasonable to expect someone from another part of the world to know that the time listed at the top of an auction post is 1 hour ahead of the time listed at the bottom of the same post, effectively giving 2 different times for when the auction should end…

I hate daylight savings as much as the next person. I was just passing along what the rules say. Eastern time right now is the same as EDT. When daylight savings end, Eastern time would be the same as EST. That is likely why they have it set up that way as opposed to setting it as EDT or EST. To be fair to the world, they should use UTC but we would never be able to understand it. We can’t even use the metric system…

I wouldn’t know that there was a difference between eastern time and EST.

The point I’m making is that if both are different times then there’s effectively two times when the auction could end.

I thought you were referring to the PCF auction options because it only designates Eastern Time. The OP added that which caused the confusion. The Auction guidelines states no changes are to be made so based on that, it ends at Eastern Time. It will be up to the OP to resolve it as they see fit.

That’s what I thought he meant as well. Didn’t realise he’d added the EST part in himself.

I thought that the site was only limiting people to putting EST and not EDT. Looks like that’s not the case.

Ah well, everyone back to normal. Nothing to see here…
