Hey PCF, looking for some suggestions for a friend. They are hosting a casino themed murder mystery party for a birthday. As part of the night, they want some gaming tables and asked me to assist. My initial thought is poker would not be one of the better gaming choices because it's player vs player instead of vs the house.

The idea is to have some of the characters play casino employees and some patrons. We go through the murder mystery role play, but also the individual who wins the most play money chips by the end of the night wins a prize.

I'm thinking blackjack, craps, and roulette are the best options. I have enough chips to have everyone start with $500 and play $10-$25 minimum tables. We have layouts for all these.

Has anyone else done this before? Any suggestions or things we should know before the night?

For roulette you need to establish a chip to $ ratio so people can cash in/out smoothly to go between tables. I suggest 1 chip = $10, initial stack 50 chips, and let them spin it up as high as they can go.

I agree. Was thinking of starting everyone out with 5 x $100 chips to start the night. The Roulette buy-in process exactly what you said, but with 1 chip = $5. Was thinking about using cheap dice chips for the Roulette table. I have 4 or 5 colors that could work.

The other games you could buy in the same way, but using denom chips. I have Nevada Jack ceramics.
