Casino Royale Poker Table Topper Build (Research and Development) (1 Viewer)

Am I Insane?

  • Yes, and I love it!

  • Yes, and I hate it!

  • No, but you could make it 10% smaller

  • What are you talking about? This is a perfectly sane thing to do. People do this all the time.

  • Good Lord, just build a table, man.

Helloooo PCF'ers!

As I near the end of my liberating journey, converting my worthless dollars into precious poker chips, emptying my mind and wallet alike, I realized the fatal flaw in my plan: what good are the chips without an appropriate surface to play them on?

Well, well, I may have a remedy for that. Ladies and gentlemen, my fellow chippers, I give you:

The Casino Royale Poker Table Topper (Proper) A.K.A. Big Bertha

I know, I know. "What the hell is this?" you may ask. This is merely a blueprint for future greatness. Utilizing the maximum size offered by @rjdev7 for @LeGold 's topper I will create a portable plywood version of that behemoth that comes together in four piece, with detachable rails. Should look something like this: (center graphic thx to: @Ghost_Writer_WL)

I think this project will benefit from all folks here who build these things on the regular as I, while handy with tools, will be doing this for the very first time. So please share your experiences, comments, tips and tricks as I'll be regularly updating this thread with progress on the build.

I suspect having pictures of cards and chips on a topper is going to lead to confusion. There are already some great looking Casino Royale designs out there you could look at and maybe work with the artist to tweak to your liking.

This Is going to extremely cool. The only thing I can add Is that when I did my small, very regular mat i enlarged the non-betting area because you spend way more time counting Chips and drinking, rather than betting/ touching the Chips you already net (but this of course would change the original design a Little).

Regarding the actual dimentions of the logo, there's no Need to Guess them. The dimentions can be easily calculated by some film's frontal shots of the plaques beside the logo.
Need some counseling?
I can do it when I get back home
