For me, the sweet spot is mint Paulson THC chips after two or three games of home use. Still in pristine condition, but with that "new car" sharp edge worn off ever so slightly. In most home game settings, they will remain in this condition for quite awhile, only improving over time.

However, very few casino-used chips fall into this category (mostly just the lesser-used higher denominations). My first set of casino Paulson chips (used PCA primaries and mint PCA secondaries) made my preference abundantly clear to me.

Your comment brings to mind your Centuries... Maaaaaaaaan... :)

After playing in the casino as much as I do, I really don't care about the condition of the chips.

Just adds to the story. My 2nd edition Tropicana set has some really well used 5s. Just adds to the legacy for me.

All my sets are casino sets. The slightly used Paulsons are the best playing chips, for feel and action. I don't like using my new chips, like the 2nd Grand Vics, for play. I'm mainly hoarding.

I don't mind light, noticeable casino use, especially if it will save me a few bucks on a set, but I don't like the rounded chips regardless of where they are from or how nice their design is.
