I've always loved the Aztars, and would still love to own a set someday. That being said, I gotta roll with my PNYs. When you have over 2K of them, I guess you can say you're a little biased. :ROFLMAO:

For those of you hating on the PNYs, saying that they look like something made for tourists, I will happily take them off your hands, little to no charge. I will give them a nice home, where they can run free, and be with many of their siblings.;)

Agreed. I've said it before and I'll say it again: PNYs have outstanding colors and spot patterns, and the color-matched photos of iconic NYC locations are truly well done. Simply put: very few casinos put the effort into designing magnificent chips, and this was one of them that did so. Truly classics. While I generally don't like giant inlays, these totally work with the theme and design. Not a single of these chips is gaudy or poorly done.

Hard to pick a favorite, but the workhorse $5s, to me, as a New Yorker, are just the beez neez.

That they are available in quantity on the home market is icing on the cake.

Can't vote on this. Once owned PNY's, but honestly never liked the combo RHC + giant inlay. Also colors/spots of some denoms (especially the very common $5 and $25) are quite meh. Aztars are just overrated. Yes, they are rare, and, yes, you don't see hotstamped spotted chips too often, but the only nice denom here is the $1k.

THC all the way for me. If I absolutely had to choose a RHC set, it would be the Grand Vic's.

Aztar for me in a landslide.

Besides the fact that the oversized inlays effectively DQ the PNY set for me, I tend not to care for chips with photos on the inlays. Also, love most of the colors of the Aztar set (not a fan of the 5k chip at all, though).

I'll grant that the PNY's have some pretty solid spots/patterns. That's about the only thing that appeals to me, though. I guess they're kinda like butterfaces for me - I like'em from the side, and then I see their face and walk away.

I don't hate PNYs but I hate cliched NY images. Real NY style should have clean, perhaps a gothic influenced design, not just some tourist photos. And the Aztars have outstanding edge spots... Aztar.

I want those Aztars....... simple hotstamp design, but with great colors and spots. And they are RHC mold...... without a doubt they get my vote. The other set is better as a cash game..... bright circus colors. I want more bland chips for tournaments (y)

I am biased, but PNYs and not even close

Reasonable minds can differ with regard to some of these poll choices. This is not one of those. Aztar and it honestly, really, truly is not even remotely close.

I agree. I think the one and the five dollar chips are just fantastic. This is the first cash set that I've owned that I actually want to get in play ahead of my customs. That seems crazy to me. I also agree that I don't think there is a bad chip in the bunch. There can be some discussion over the primaries and secondary's (I prefer the primaries). Both are damn fine looking chips.

I like the PNY $1s and the $25 secs, meh on the $5 and $100 inlays.

But there's not one of those Aztar chips that I find at all attractive.

Neither's a favorite, but my vote goes to the PNYs.

If somebody wanted to design chips to really tilt me, and took into consideration all the features I don't like - RHC mold, photo inlays, giant inlays, and then they saw I was from Boston so they decided to throw in a NYC theme - well there you have it.

Waiting for the day when you finally get a decent set of Paulson THC cash chips in your hands. Just like with crack, you'll sell off everything to get more. ;)

You might be right. I'm pretty happy with the sets that I currently have. The only one that might hit the chopping block is the limit set.

In my opinion, which I know does not mean much, the Aztar is one of the best sets ever. My only gripe is the lack of color separation between the 100 and the 500. The 1000 is the chip that set me over the edge years back. For the 1st time in my 8 or so years chipping, I finally have a full sample set in my possession, and they are even better than I imagined.

So, to me, spotted Aztar tournament set is the best of them all.

We primarily play with his custom Fite Club or Bubbles chips when he hosts.

I might have to make a side trip to meet Bubb's and make sure that Paulo's other chips aren't all moldy sitting in that dungeon without any lovin'.

...and I'll make sure that you get a few nice THC gems in your hands in Denver.
