I love textured inlays and shaped to boot. $25s are typically my least favorite chip, but I love the PCA $25...maybe more than the $5.

I personally don't get the love for the Foxwoods $1. Other than 3 moon spots it's really unappealing to me.

This one was a little closer than I wanted it to be for me, but I went PCA's. I really prefer the THC mold over the house mold, the shaped, standard sized inlays vs. the non-shaped grand inlays, and for the most part I prefer the spots of the PCAs. I like the design of the Foxwoods inlay far better - easy to read, love the lion, and the denoms are very clear.

$1 - Foxwoods. No contest. Thinking of asking someone to harvest some racks of these for me.
$5 - PCA
$25 - PCA. This one was close.
$100 - PCA in a runaway
$500 - PCA, although I am a sucker for a nice 8v
$1k/$5k - Foxwoods by default (but they're awesome even if it wasn't a default judgement)

That's an interesting way of thinking about it. Personally I put too much emphasis on overall set cohesion to go one-by-one to determine the favorite. Although I guess Foxwoods woudl still get my vote if I gave credit to one or the other set based only upon the shared denominations:

$1 - Foxwoods (by a lot)
$5 - Foxwoods (by a lot)
$25 - PCA (by a lot)
$100 - PCA (close call)
$500 - Foxwoods (by a lot)

Since I really like both sets, I used a "what would i buy that works for me?" approach:

PCA: $1-$5-$25-$100-$500 five denom tourney set
FOX: $25-$100-$500-$1000-$5000 five denom tourney set

Comparing those two five-chip sets top-to-bottom, it's admittedly close, but Foxwoods wins for me. And when you throw the extra chips (PCA frac and the awesome Foxwoods $1 and $5 chips, it becomes a no-brainer imo. The Foxwoods fiver may be one of the most underrated chips I can think of.

For me I'm stunned the PCA is not a 2:1 favorite. I can only guess that there are many mid Atlantic voters who frequent the place.

I've probably been to Foxwoods half a dozen times ever. For me it's purely the look of the chips.

I've got a single lying around here somewhere if you'd like one.

I've been there one time. I love PCAs - the best all-around Chip Room offering ever, hands down (my personal preferences for certain other sets based on factors unique to me notwithstanding.) But for me they're not even in the same conversation as Foxwoods.

I've never been to either casino, don't own either set, and have only seen PCA's IRL.

I just find the PCAs boring. What's that, a tiny star? That's your "design"? Best part of the sets I've seen are the buttons and the plaques, both which weren't a part of the casino set. They could have given more real estate to the logo, had they used regular round labels (like the PCA tourney set), but some 7 year old got the go-ahead and wanted one of every shape, because they could - not because they should.

PCA wins on the $25 and $100 chip colors, but after that it's all ties and losses from this completely impartial judge.

I don't get the knock on the shaped inlays. You don't repeat the shape. That's the point of shaped inlays. Each chip has a different shape, just like spot progression. WTF?

Shaped inlays are cool. PCAs are cool, in large part due to the shaped inlays. Magginni's are cool; same reason. Empress chips would be much less cool if the inlays weren't shaped.

Only downside is the resulting smaller real estate, which is why CPC should offer 1-1/8" shaped inlays on 43mm chips. I'd sell nearly every chip I own.....

It said DONT READ if you owns a large set, which you obviously own a large and glorious set (exp. those plaques)!

Like BG said, it's the lost real estate for me, making the inlay just look bland. I'm also not particular about spot progressions, unless they're blatantly obvious, so I accept that the shaped-inlay-progression is just lost on me.

PCA without question. The PCA look is perfect and I'm also kind of anti-PA casinos since they're a longer drive from here than AC while the AC casinos have so much more character. Plus my brain starts getting irritated with 3 different colored edge spots. I don't like seeing the symmetry abandoned.

I share your preference for AC casinos over PA, but Foxwoods is in Connecticut and definitely has plenty of character (and characters). Think Harrah's AC if it was located in the sticks and management got a bonus every time they put on a new addition to the building.

I could harvest, it'd just take some time (I don't make it there much anymore). Chips are well worn for the most part - not rounded but definitely flea bites and dirtier than hell. Send me a PM if you want me to grab a few racks.

8.3 million feet of gaming space...they really need about 800K. Mohegan is by far the better property for every single thing except poker.

Every time I've been there I've taken a walk around the place and I'm certain I've never seen the whole thing. It's amazing how desolate some of the areas of the property are. Almost creepy.
