You may be waiting a little while longer if this photo in the news is true....

Righto. Thanks @davislane for making the 20-chip sample available. And, thanks @John Zoidberg for sending them to Brissie.

@Adam Crowley and @proggerpete let me know (via PM) if you want to come and check them out as I will need to send them on.

Who is next in line after Brisbane?? :)

My thoughts:
The Good - The colours and edge alignment are awesome. The cards mold just feels better than a standard flat surface ceramic, albeit a tiny bit more slippery. Stacked reasonably well, but... see below re: spinners.
The Not so Good - Every few chips is a spinner and in such a small selection, it is a bit of a concern. This has been mentioned by the US crew and their solution - order more chipes ;). With a small order like ours, even 10% extra across several denoms will add up. May not be a deal breaker, but worth considering at approx. 60c AUD per chip.

Conclusion - Undecided (sorry). I have paid for my art from J5, and the spinner thing (while not unexpected for the relative cost) is nagging at me. And yet, I can't flat out say no, haha :). I feel I am leaning more towards yes though...probably...

we spoke about it early on but we never transacted. i just decided that Id gift them to you instead for organising the group but forgot to tell you. ;)
Thanks mate, hopefully we can get something sorted once all have had a look :)

I totally forgot about these but I'm still interested in a tourney set. With current paulson prices and shipping concerns, buying from the US doesnt seem like a good idea anymore.

@proggerpete lives in Brissie, so I reckon send them along to @Perthmike and then back to me.

As per my brief review, these samples spin like top, but the colours and printing are great. Hopefully they are only a small percentage as per the advice from the US crews.

This still cooking?
Still at EOI.

I finally received the samples, so I'll send these off to @Perthmike tomorrow.

Some feedback/thoughts:
- The feel of the chips is definitely above average (better than your standard Ceramics)
- I'm indifferent about the cards mold, they do improve the look and texture, but if it wasn't there I wouldn't care either.
- The chips shuffle and stack well.
- The colours are fantastic and are bright.
- The edge alignment is also fantastic.
- When lined up 20 vs. 20 of Ceramics from ABC/BrPro I noticed that these were slightly thinner (maybe due to consistency issues? Idk, but there was a lot of movement in my racks).
- The spinners as already mentioned by @Phantom is definitely something to consider, but the price tag on these does make it appealing.

Overall, I think for <0.70c AUD a chip it's good value (considering most stock ceramics available at Australian retailers cost more than this). After handling the samples, I am on the fence on these - I like the Aria designs, but I would be more interested if it was Bellagio designs and in 43mm... haha.

Agreed about Bellagio designs. Im commissioning a custom set thats a frankenstein of bellagio and aria chips with 39mm and 43mm chip. Ill share the designs once completed. Maybe you can piggy back some of the design work from that?
