Thank you Chip  under the impression it's a custom set from Paulson like BTP?
Yes, these were someone's personal buy they pushed through Paulson. Fraudulent, for lack of a better term, buys like these are slim to none anymore as GPI has many precautions in place to prevent them from going through.
These are similar to the RPC chips most recently released to the forum.

Yes but my sale to the public was more fun.

Fraudulent
I think the organiser of that buy wouldn't consider it that.

To be clear, Paulson made the coops, btp, hq, and Truman through a card room promotion. They had full knowledge of what was going on and we’re not misled. They then went through a merger and ended that practice.

Certainly, and I understand the circumstances in that particular situation are different than the general consensus. However, the others do not fall into that category

I'm a bit new to this - where are the coop chips from?
They're a personal custom set of Paulson chips that were ordered and made for a PCF member - @Chicken Rob. Custom Paulsons are rare; Paulson now only sells to licensed casinos, so getting a custom set as an individual requires some finagling. There have been a few custom sets made to be sold to multiple people: Aurora Star, Empress Star, Pacific Star (Bud Jones rather than Paulson but likewise not normally possible to order), Big Top Poker, Sunset Beach, and recently Royal Princess Casino. There have also been a few custom sets made for individuals as their own personal sets: Truman's House, Harlequin, and Chicken Coop (plus one other I won't name because the owner apparently wants to stay quiet about it).

@Chicken Rob eventually sold his personal set to @ImCrossland , who then sold the set in pieces to the PCF membership at large. That was almost a year ago. They've been trading hands now and then ever since.

Why are they so highly sought after?

1) Custom Paulsons are rare, as mentioned.

2) The chips are colorful and attractive, which is no surprise - they were designed by a chipper for a chipper.

3) The inlay design is, um, full of character. Some find its unique charm very appealing.

4) Having never been used in a casino, the chips are in exceptionally good condition.

You can read more about these chips and some of the other custom sets in this post: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/on-the-road-again….76878/page-6#post-1563747

In fact, that entire thread is about the Chicken Coop chips, starting from the time that @ImCrossland came into possession of them and their subsequent disposition, being consigned to the winds of PCF.

It’s a really fun thread to read once you get done checking out the most recent TRK auction thread.

BA-CAWK!
