Hi everyone -

I'm new here but looking for some advice on maintaining my Paulson Classic THC set. ~1,400 chips so there are quite a few, but I'm wondering what best practices are for taking care of them as well as frequency. I've read about using mineral oil, but wasn't sure what type to use or if it's actually safe for the chips. I put the set together over the course of about 2 years in 2006 and they do not get frequent use, but have never been cleaned or oiled. Stored in a Pelican case with foam

Any advice or help is appreciated!

I just cleaned 160 white Paulsons using Dawn soap and a soft Bristle fingernail brush. Set them on a dish drying mat, pat them with a towel, then Move them to another dry mat. Let them sit for a few hours, then rerack them.

I haven’t oiled mine yet, but I think the general consensus is to use mineral oil. Use sparingly. A little goes a long way.

I‘m using the same method cleaning my Paulson’s WTHC, except I’m using a tooth brush with soft bristles.

Soap and water with a soft toothbrush if they need to be cleaned. Would take a lot of home use to get to that point though, usually we're talking about casino used chips and cleaning off the hooker juice (aka gunk from years of constant casino use). When it comes to the oiling, a little goes a VERY long way and is usually done on new chips or just washed chips to brighten the color. You get the same effect from just using them as well, as they'll pickup oils from hands.
