Hi Fellow Chippers;

Currently I have 4 cash sets and 1 tourny set. I believe I may have to sell one of these sets. If it were you which one of these would you guys sell? This is a poll only. Just interested in the response.

Here's a little pron.

Wow you got some solid sets there man! I agree with the above comments though for the same reasons. Very nice taste.

Thanks guys, ever since joining this site thanks to @chipjoker, it hasn't been very kind on the wallet lolz

Otherwise the experience has been phenomenal!

Thanks mate
It's building up, but this hobby could get out of control ;]

Agree, but probably the best of all home sets, and very hard to accumulate.

Do people prefer to keep multiple small sets or like one big massive one lolz

Agree with moose. I'd get rid of the palais set. Hard to get back sure, but pretty useless set as is anyways.

Le Noir cash set, b/c that way I'd still have one tourney set and some Le Noir's left.

I agree with Moose, but it would depend on if you were just collecting or actually getting your chips in play.

Agree with the above comments - also depends on the circumstances and how much money you need to get out. Obviously, the best answer is "keep them all ;-)"

Those terms need definition before the question can be adequately answered as asked. What you consider big may be merely average to some others.

But generically speaking, I prefer multiple sets over just one set, variety being the spice of life. Nearly all of my sets are tournament sets, and typically structured to accommodate at least two tables. Therefore, most of those sets have at least 1000 chips each (which is small by some people's definition, yet considered large by others). Very few would I consider to be massive, but at last count, the playable set total was somewhere north of 25.

I selected no such thing as having too many chips, but if you really had to sell one, I would go with the PCA set.

Why do you own those Palais chips? They're not really playable. Do you think you'll be able to add on someday and make them playable (and if so, is that at all likely)? Are you just holding onto them because they're rare and coveted? Do you love them?
Unless you LOVE them, I think the Palais is the easy answer.
You're not selling the TRK's. You're just not.
The PCA's seem like the easy answer because they're replaceable, but I notice they're your only set with fracs. If that makes them more useable to you than any of your other sets, you're not selling them.
It seems like it comes down to the Palais or the les Noir cash set.

I'm really surprised how many are suggesting to sell the PCA's given the desire for these chips across the forum.

I voted for the Le Noir tourney set for two reasons. I don't care much for home Paulsons and I much prefer cash sets.

As for one larger set vs several smaller sets, there was a thread in this same forum not too long ago that discussed this very topic in good detail. From what I recall, the majority thought a larger set offered more flexibility, but the opinions were mixed with good arguments on both sides.

Good luck with whatever you decide. No matter what, it looks like you'll end up with some great keepers too.

I have bought and sold large PCA sets at least three times. Of the other sets listed in the poll, I don't think I've even seen them listed for sale that many times in the past 5-6 years.

To me, it's all about the general availability and my ability to correct any subsequent sellers remorse. :)

I host 2nd, 4th and 5th Saturdays. Seven sessions every quarter, plus an occasional 1/2 game and rare Tuesday games where I am the second back-up host. I have six sets that would support a two table game and a number more that would work for a single table game.

My Outpost set is large enough to support a four table $0.25/$0.50 game, perhaps it might be in play when we host All-in at the Alamo, October 12th - 15th 2017. http://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/all-in-at-the-alamo-october-12-15-2017.15809/

As we can see, I am not able to meet the current goal with the chips that I have. The way I see it, I need at least two more adequate sized sets.

Buy! BUY!! BUY!!! -=- DrStange

I hear ya. I haven't even been in this hobby for a year and I've had to correct seller's remorse 4 times. I'm done selling. :D
