City of Dawn Cardroom | Cash CPC (4 Viewers)

I am going to pretend I didn’t get a chance to play with these this weekend so I can insist @Rieguy brings them again to the next meetup. These are awesome. Every chip fucks.

I can’t wait until my own, completely original City of Dusk CPC set arrives…

Playing with these chips reminds me of that time when I visited Copenhagen a few years ago. Little known fact that I just made up, the locals refer to Copenhagen as “The City of Dusk.” At least I think they do. I don’t know for sure because I don’t speak German.

Anyways, the colors at dusk there are just inspiring. Check out how they reflect off the water:

I’ve tried to capture this in my next set, the City of Dusk:

Thanks goes out to @TheOffalo for really capturing the essence for me.

Can’t wait to felt these at WAB4…

They're 60+ year old chips and hard to find I think. @Spinettis Gaming has a single for sale for $95 on their site: https://spinettisgaming.com/products/tahoe-nugget-casino-lake-tahoe-nevada-5-chip-1962

It's from the Tahoe Nugget, which closed in 1980.

That chip is somewhat rare and therefore somewhat expensive -- there's one on eBay for $115 right now:

Thanks for the quick help guys. Love the design, maybe a bit on the expensive side for me for a single... Appreciate the help nontheless.

Oh and btw, the fellas over in Copenhagen don't speak german, it's in Denmark. Idk if this was intentional or some sort of inside joke, but thought I'd clear this detail :)

These are sooo original! I love them. Can we do a Group Buy?

Every time I see these chips:

But that $5 is so obnoxious, because the hub mold looks so damn good on it, and I know that shape is way more expensive than any other shape and you went for it on your most common denom anyway.

The sticker-shock certainly hit when I tallied up the set after finishing (wanted to build without that as a limiting factor), but since it's a 'forever set' and was always going to be my largest and/or only* CPC set, it was ultimately an easy hump to get over. Plus, the hub $5 is a classic, as is 4D14.
*Of course, I have another set on the way in the next couple months. All round inlays.

...and pron because why not if I'm posting here...

Still loving it! I could look at City of Dawn Pron for days  :ROFLMAO: So far away from anything I would have ever created and absolutely love it. Not a weak chip in the lineup

It certainly looks like a set that was put together with no budget restrictions. So hot! Hundo is absolutely killer!

This is one of those sets that always makes me think about designing more CPC customs.

Very well done!
