Of course, if you soak those Roscoe’s (or any Paulson Gray chips) in Hydrogen Peroxide, then yeah… they’ll be a lot lighter.

I don’t see any Roscoe’s in your photo, also I never soaked my Roscoe’s but I wasn’t the original owner (so it’s possible they did?).

So you think all the Roscoe’s I’ve ever seen were soaked in peroxide? eBay, and two different PCF owners?

Sorry to thread crap Dan

Do I need to get you two a room?

That's correct. I don't currently own any Roscoe's, or I would have been happy to include them in the photo that shows the spots on the Claim Stake $1s matching the color of my Paulson Gray color sample.

That's one possibility, though quite improbable if all the Roscoe's you've ever seen did not at some point in their history have a common owner.

Another possibility is that Paulson simply used a lighter batch of Paulson Gray when they made all the Roscoe's you've seen. I think it's fair to say that there's some variability in Paulson colors, even within chips from a single casino.

That said, the spot colors of all my Claim Stake $1s are quite consistent, and they match my Paulson Gray color sample very closely - but of course they might not match someone else's Gray color sample quite as closely.

Regardless, I think these Claim Stake $1s are GREAT looking chips (even if @Ryeguy @Rieguy makes a limit set with them)!

I also meant to say... The other possibility is that Paulson made a batch of Claim Stake $1s (that I haven't seen) using Showboat Gray, or a darker than usual batch of Gray.

Free bump for the OP… It’s gone somewhat quiet in here. Perhaps we’re in the eye of the hurricane?

Someone suggested I post some ¶®Øñ of my own Claim Stake set, even though it’s substandard in comparison to Master Claim Staker @Rieguy, so here it is:

(Sorry… The brand of my yellow fracs is a secret!)

I’d say this is a pretty standard in an auction for desirable, hard to find chips; fireworks at the start followed by relative quiet until the last 5-30 minutes of auction end.
