I got an Atlantic inlay sample and ever since I pulled it out of the package it has felt dirty. It doesn’t look dirty, but I’ve washed it with soap and water 5+ times and they still have this feeling. I feel it the most on the horse heads. How do you get to rid of it? Also is soap and water wearing the chip down? The edges and crosshatch have worn quite a bit since they arrived 6 weeks ago (but it could just be me playing with them)

I can vaguely recall discussing this topic in another thread years back.

I’ve had a couple samples of CPCs over the years for failed projects, and I personally recall receiving my color sample and thinking..do they use reject or off spec chips to make up samples? My sample was a stack of different sizes, Amold, and I do recall being unable to remove a “gritty” or “fine sand grain” type of a feel, though I didn’t care. I sort of took the plunge into chipping in 2019 with a 700 pc CPC set, before even knowing how great they were. Sampled a barrel for one night, ordered the next day. I don’t think you are the first to feel this way or mention it. I figure in general, if I’m not totally off my rocker, and they make samples with less than par quality chips, it’s probably only us chip nerds on PCF who even give a crap enough to even notice.

I know once you receive their chips, as products, they are outstanding! Quality and durability is tops and you will love them. Don’t let it be a measurement of their end quality.

I just got a sample of Atlantic Club A molds in and mine are fine. No grit feeling or anything like that. They feel similar to my Paulson casino chips I have but obviously more squared edges and a bit more texture on the CPC since they are new.

CPC need to be oiled when arrive!!!!!
Visual proof. One oiled chip in a chalky barrel.
