On further review of the logo, there is more orange to white to red in it, so going to switch around some base colors and see. Pulled out the sample set and I’m thinking New base.

Dayglo arc yellow
Retro red
Dayglo peacock
Black.

Going to keep the black as is with pinwheel.

I'm really loving the Dayglo Blue base on the 25. Can't decide if I like the dayglo green in the 4v12. Part of me is worried about a dirty stack with the black with the dayglo green edge spot and less of a chance keeping it base color.

I’d be more worried about the $5 and the $100 but I’m colorblind af and struggle with the darker red CPC colors.

A lot of posts coming from you. Still early concept bouncing around perhaps.

If I was doing a fireworks theme, I'd think about making each chip and spots mimic a different type of firework. I don't know fireworks names, but as an example; a chip that imitates one of those fountain sprays up from the ground. Could then make interesting use of uneven spot arrangements to mimic that.

Weird could post a pic, so link:

That would be extremely difficult to mimic. I'm going for the base colors of the company's logo and the popular colors in a standard firework breaking in the air.

But yes, a ton of ideas bouncing around.

For example, the black chip with all the different colored 1/4 edge spots is designed to mimic a finale, with multiple different colors breaking in the air. The dayglo blue has a similar idea, with multiple pastels in the air.

The dayglo arc yellow has large 1/2 white edge spots because white is probably the most popular firework color, with hints of red, along with the literal colors of the logo - a lot of orange flame, to white, to red.

Hopefully this thread can kinda see my line of thinking and brainstorming on the designs.

Definitely a very unique theme, though also on the difficult side.

Another option, though odd, is the red. The strange edge spot arrangement is based off a well known picture in my collection.

Now you’re going really outside the box. Based on previous discussions of asymmetric spots, I could see some folks hating that but I instantly see a firework!

Changed it slightly. I like a dark blue in the black edge spot.

Made the red more complex and less white edge spots (I feel the more the white in the red, the less it moves away from the rest of the color theme.

A slight change to the black. Put a Red/White/Blue eye spot progression into it, for obvious fireworks theme reasons.

Also played a little bit with the Blue. I plan on continually playing with the blue edge spot designs to see what clicks. I really like the retro red edge spot with the dayglo peacock.

Playing around with the blue. Might be a dirty stack issue.

Possibly less of a chance for a dirty stack on the blue changing it to pink instead of red.

Still toying with some of the patterns. Changed the blue to be 1/8 instead of the 4V12 pattern.

Still have some time. I haven't heard back from @timinater. Really excited about this set, for a couple reasons. Will be my last CPC set because of their closing, and it's a memorial for my late Dad. Really excited how the inlay is going to look.

@timinater is on it for inlay design. One problem I discovered is the original company logo from early 1900's is extremely difficult to find, so I have to go through a ton of artifacts from the business to find a better one than the only item I have with the logo, a zippo lighter.

On another note, I sent prelims into CPC for Dave to look at them. My one chip will have major split spot issues, so redesigned the blue. I'm lighting the color scheme and the very patriotic color combo. Very fitting for a fireworks theme. My orange I may play with a little more for possible split spots.

Here are the two finalists at the moment. Any input is greatly appreciated.

This may be a finalist, if not the final design.

Inlays comings toward end of month.

These will be the logos that the inlays will be based off of.

So I've been playing with a bunch of different combinations and base colors and no matter what I do, I keep coming back to this color combo. I will post the 2 final designs and any input would be nice.

Dayglo yellow 1/4 on the black vs. dayglo Saturn.

I also played around with the red 1/4 and put a lavender. Not I fan. I kept the red.

More background. The two company logos are the $1 and $25 (Orange and Blue), with the red chip being my favorite professional display photo. The black is to simulate a finale - that one is set.

I've been trying to get the 2 company logos into the 2 most played chips, the $1 and $5, but no luck. I keep coming back to this design pattern.

Or this change, though I'm concerned about the inlay similarities between the red and orange.

Or a slight change to switch up the possible dirty stack issue.

Possibly my favorite. Have to decide if I want bright white instead of dayglo tiger in the 3V12. Probably bright white since I have no bright white edge spots.

If you are looking for a vote, I like the bright white better and my eye can't seem to get past the two different color smaller hashes. I think it will look better if all the smaller hashes are the same color and maybe that is where you get the dayglo tiger.
