CPC Hot Stamps (2 Viewers)

Love the way this set turned out! Out of curiosity did you pay for one die and the denoms were just changed out in that?

I really love this CPC Hotstamp job. It's phenomenal and it makes me want a set for myself!!

From what I recall from the CPC hotstamp thread, I believe @Mr Tree is correct that it would have to be five separate dies
I think it could be done but it would be very tough and require amazingly precise stamping. Hell it might be cheaper just to make the extra dies.

I know on my current custom project I am having to do a unique die for each denomination.

Let's phone-a-friend.

I agree with you. I am 99% certain you need a separate die for each denom.
I'm going to go with "it's possible" because I think on the CPC site it shows all the letters and numbers individually and I bet they could probably stamp multiple times on the same chip.

Albeit it's probably way cheaper to make a single dye per denom.

I guess if you designed a die that could fit together (a graphic with a removable/changable denom), it might be possible. I was just under the impression that doing that wasn't feasible.

I also recall you can't actually stamp the chip twice, not to mention you'd have to deal with alignment issues on every chip.

Well I didn't know you couldn't stamp a chip twice...

Well shoots my idea out.

Possible but more reliable consistent stamping with solid die I think.

This is what I would think. If you did two seperate stamps then you would always have centering issues with the denoms being squared away with the outter ring.

AND you'd have to center it twice, once for each side on both chips.

I would be shocked if this wasn't five dies tbh.

I can confirm it was 5 separate dies. In the end these chips were roughly $1.75 apiece, well worth it to me as a lifetime investment as well as something that I've wanted for a very long time.
I have a solid tournament hot stamp set in the works as well and I am also using the DG Tiger and DG Peacock so I liked seeing these. Enjoy them and go get them in play already!

You getting any design help? If so, what's the going rate? I think it's time I got started on this too

This is good gouge.

And, again, this set is amaze-balls and hooked me on a hot stamped set of my own.

I'm using J5. I think it's best to email him for availability and rates but I've always found his work to be well worth it.
