my main takeaway from this thread is i am so fucking glad i didn't consider attempting this myself.

the last group buy i ran was circa 2004-2005 and involved maaaaybe 6-7 orders?

I've been watching and checking this thread for months now... each day hoping and praying to be a step closer, every update is like a little bit of sunshine on my face only to have it flitter away all to quickly... here and there a splash of optimism, a small update, another step forward to our collective goal... the days seem to get longer and longer yet in Boston the sunlight each day becomes shorter and shorter... I feel like this is a mirage that one day will come true... I envision that day when I get a box on my doorstep (from the GOAT NAGBGB coordinator Saint Sean of Gecko), I open the box and am overcome with joy... I start yelling to my GF "they're here! they're finally here!" to which I get a reply of "oh I'm so happy for you... more little round clay discs" in a patronizing tone accompanied with a pronounced roll of the eyes... I see myself spending the next few hours/days in a heavenly daze, taking photos and arranging the chips just so, still high on the new-chip-hit that makes chipping worth it... then a few weeks... maybe even months pass and those same chips while still amazing, they don't seem to shimmer just the same way they did when I first opened them, maybe the colors seem a tad faded though I know it's just my mind playing tricks, and I start down a dark path thinking 'we'll what if you used a lighter green or a darker purple' 'what if you added a tree fiddy chip? that'd be fun' 'what about a Lakeshore tribute set' 'what about making my 2 table set a 3 table set? so what I haven't seated more than 9 players to date they're .35 a chip' 'what if I just moved to china? it sure would cut down on the shipping time'.... and then I remember I've already had all of those thoughts before I even placed my order.

FWIW the color sample sets arrive at my house today! That was fast! They must be excited for our business. I will post an order thread tonight.
